Spending way more money at Starbucks now that our daily food and drink markout was taken away?
Meaning that year we had our daily markouts getting your free food and beverage became such an weird part of your routine, and now that it's gone you still go just because if habit and it was that intergated into your daily routine.
I need to stop spending money at Starbucks. Still so hurt they took that benefit away.

can’t the partner ringing you up doing it as a mark out on one of your days off they could get in trouble since the mark outs get logged in the register?

yeah if my manager wasn’t empathetic, sure. she also knows we’re a bunch of hungry broke young adults so even she has rang in my numbers but i’m not exactly sure what the fine print says about all of that

oh yeah having a decent SM goes a long way. most of what i eat comes from getting my mark out at work so i really rely on them, but i don’t spend a cent at sbux otherwise. majority of my ssvs don’t care and will let us grab what we need to sustain ourselves regardless which i’m very thankful for

They didn’t take anything away really, it’s just different times. It costs the exact same for the company this way, they just stopped supporting daily meals from Starbucks. Now you gotta pay at a discount or work more days - you can also just mark all your food out on days you work and heat it yourself! That’s my go to and it works pretty well.

Wait what??? I work for a licensed store now, but corporate Starbucks doesn't give the free drink or food markout anymore? What about bagged coffee weekly mark out?

We get the coffee markout. Just the free drink and food markout everyday ended I believe in October. We can still get free drinks when clocked in, just not on our days off anymore

Ummm, you still get your free food markouts. It's a total of 7 per week. The only thing that changed is you can't do it on days off. It has to be during your shift. You can even do multiple markouts per day, so long as you don't go over the 7 in one week.

Uh yeah we def still get them, they just made it a pain in the ass to actually get them, for exactly this reason. They knew if they made it hard to do then a lot of us would just stop ; I'm sure it gave Rosanne(sp? idgaf) a nice bump in her bonus

I’ll be honest whenever a partner came in on their off day and I was ringing them up I would always mark it out. We got paid ten bucks an hour 3 years ago at my store. Ten dollars an hour. Target was starting at 14
I damn well know baristas provide more value to the company than ten an hour (especially those who are able to run the bar or those who can man food and front register, or any other type of thing where a partner exceeds one role). Does it make what I did right? Not really. But at the same time the lines are kind of blurred in my opinion. Especially when we dump out coffee left and right anyway.

You still get the 7 food items you just have to mark them out at your store on a day you’re working. Tbh I spent so much money at Starbucks before I was an employee, I don’t spend nearly as much as I used to now

Now that that’s ended I’m more conscious about taking snacks from home but I usually get at least my lunch from work and that’s it

Honestly fun fact, they don’t count unless it’s obvious. 7 or 10, they don’t really care. When I go to my store the person on reg will just mark it out and say oops sorry I accidentally hit partner food/bev and I do the same unless they’re getting a ton 🤷♀️
