It’s so sad. I used to actually enjoy working at Starbucks. Now I have one foot out the door and am on my way completely out soon. They’ve really turned Starbucks into the fast food coffee McDonald’s we all used to joke about years ago.

i love the people who i work with. i stayed extra time to help them stock up after a particularly horrible morning and we hugged and it just made me sad. i hate the way customers treat me and how they act, and how horrible our quality and cleanliness has gotten, but i love making drinks and the people around me.

Who doesn't?

Me?
But my fellow partners are the absolute best.

Had a green bean come in, I told her I was leaving, and she asked why, and me only having gotten 30 minutes of sleep, dead ass said "because I fucking hate it here." My shift looked at me with such surprise and was like "but you like the partners and job" and I was like "yea but the customers suck."

When have I not heard that one with anyone over 6 months of partnership..... And I've been here several years. Help.

Set yourself free!

Lmao I think this at least 5-10 times every shift and I know my coworkers feel the same

According to “someone” with a laptop and I quote, “we don’t look like we are having fun with each other” during downtime. No shit???? We all like each other but we are all exhausted, and tired of the nitpicking. I used to brag on here about my store being “great” but it’s recently turned into one toxic mess.
Makes me sad. I’m a 178 and back in the day there was NEVER a time that I was upset with the direction of the Siren. I woke up early every morning excited to go to my store.

It's even worse when the people you work with suck. Makes it 100 times more unbearable. One shift a week it's pretty decent

i’m so grateful a majority of the people i work with don’t suck. if they do suck i just let someone know (my asm is wonderful)

Honestly I love my coworkers and making the menu items I just get annoyed and pissed off because they expect a lot without giving a lot of help (competent or otherwise) and they're trying to hold on to old values while also putting pressure on employees to go faster like bro I'm going as fast as I can but if a customer orders five lattes in DT I'm not gonna be able to make them in time for a 35 second window interaction and you can bet were not going to be able to connect with our customers. Also I should not be yelled at and harassed by a customer over cinnamon powder.
