I’m the brokest I’ve ever been. I wanted this to be a long term thing, but I don’t have enough $ to have fun anymore. What do I do? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve been working in food service for 2 years and this is the least amount of money I’ve made ever per check. And it’s throwing me off. I’m so used to having a good amount of spending money per pay check. In addition to rent, other bills, my partner and I need to start saving and I don’t think it’s possible at the bux as a barista working for $13.50/hr.

I have an opportunity to work at a pizza place for $16 and originally I was going to do pt and pt for both positions but knowing how much I would make in just 4 days at the pizza place makes it hard not to make it a priority and start saving immediately. However, the benefits and the tuition fulfillment has kept me in the wraps since the start.

I like being a barista and I like the people I work with but the money just isn’t livable. What do I do?

(Atm I am not in school but was going to start through the ASU program eventually but I may not want to start attending classes this year)

Edit: spelling

Possibly less hours at Starbucks and more at the pizza place. Like 17 and 23 type thing? Get the money from pizza and benefits and everything from Starbucks?

You need to average 20 at bucks to be benefits eligible

It may pay more per hour, but they most likely have worse benefits. Currently pizza is the same game, not enough staff, people demanding food faster despite any shortages or staffing issues. I think most food/ retail is like that right now. Im only at the bux to finish my bachelors on their dime otherwise the money isn’t worth it.
