The Good Regulars (names redacted for privacy reasons)

1. Tall 1/2 Decaf Mocha, make sure it’s got Whip and Mocha Drizzle. Sometimes iced, sometimes hot.
Also orders a tall blonde with cream and 2 splendas; gets Pike when he comes at night.

2. My bestie, who’s ironically named Karen but is incredibly sweet: Grande Chai Latte, No Water, Kids Temp, sometimes also a Venti Black Tea Lemonade with Classic.

3. Two old dudes with the same name; one gets a Venti Decaf with Cream, other gets a Venti Blonde, nothing in it.

4. Tall Decaf Cappuccino. She was a regular from my first store, who started coming to my second store (first closed, got transferred to a new one). The KINDEST SWEETEST WOMAN. She brought roses on our final day, while we were tearing down our old store. Started crying. We all started crying. Was incredibly sad. I love her. She can also pick up a full trash bag of espresso grounds, at nearly 80, with a frail old woman build. She’s a queen.

5. Tall Caramel Macchiato, Stirred. Gets a Tall SCCFCB in a Grande with extra Ice on hot days. She’s 79, a real estate agent; sharp as a tack, huge heart. Love her dearly as well. Always has something interesting to say.

The Evil Ones:
1. Haven’t seen this one in a while: Iced Quad Espresso, Extra Caramel only on the bottom of the cup, NoT STIrrED!!!! If the espresso dares to interact with the caramel at all she’ll demand a remake. Also gets 3 Ham and Swiss Croissants double-toasted.
2. Venti Iced Coffee, Extra Cream, 2 pumps White Mocha, full pumps of Caramel/SF Vanilla (she alternates), Extra Caramel Drizzle, in a Trenta Cup with Extra Ice. She’s never satisfied. I seriously doubt she even likes the taste of coffee.

3. The worst one: Anywhere from 1 to 3 Venti Iced Caramel Macchiatos, “made like a Coconut Mocha Macchiato” (except not at all ?????): Blonde, 2 Shots, Oatmilk, Extra Extra Caramel, Shaken
AND 1-3 Venti Iced Caramel Macchiatos, Sub Caramel, add 4 Pumps White Mocha, No Caramel Drizzle, Shaken.
Has ordered $60+ of shit easily. Not only singlehandedly can hold up the drive-thru, but has made baristas cry/ruin many days. I went to high school with him, too, so I always have to be the mediator. If you’re reading this, it’s not too late to change your ways. I feel like he’d use Reddit.

Socko comes in 2x a day to get a quad espresso with light water, 1/4" cream, extra ice, 3 splenda, and a pup cup

Venti iced americano w/extra ice - comes in 3-4x a day for it 😳

Kristy comes in every day and gets a iced coffee, no classic, extra cream and light cinnamon powder. She always gets like a inch of coffee and the rest cream. I’ve started using the shakers, feeling the coffee up to the base line on a tall and then the cream up to the venti ice line.

I have a couple of drip coffee regulars since I'm an opener- "venti coffee with two splendas and a little bit of milk (but he means half n half)", "grande blonde roast with cream and three splendas" and several black coffee regulars

one of my most common regulars though gets a grande cappuccino extra wet with three pumps of vanilla and we usually make it just slightly dryer than a latte, and often he'll have a "two coffee day" where he'll come back and get another a few hours later lol

my favorite regular though is mr peppermint, who always gets a grande peppermint mocha and some combination of a few different food items, but his favorites are lemon loafs and ham and cheese croissants :) before we got peppermint back he would always ask about it and then order a mocha, and when we finally got it back he was SO excited he was literally beaming it made me happy

W - Grande pike with whole milk and 15 sugars

person whose name I don’t know - This person gets a grande caramel crunch made with sweet cream and at least 15 but more like 25 pumps of dark caramel with extra whip and an insane amount of caramel drizzle in a venti cup. I know their voice and god does it haunt me, they’re usually smoking in our drive thru too.

I - usually not the same thing but they mobile order (sometimes multiple separate mobile orders) gigantic drinks that are mostly sugar, milk, and stevia with maybe just a tiny bit of espresso, cold brew or tea. oh yeah don’t forget to always leave their food items in plastic. they’re infamous.

So, I used to have a regular when I worked at a Kroger starbucks that came in every day. she was a hospice nurse. Venti Iced espresso in a trenta cup, 10 pumps classic and 10 shots of espresso, fill the rest with half & half. it’s been years since I worked at Kroger (I’m at Tarbucks now) but I recently saw in the newspaper that she was arrested for tampering with patients’ prescriptions & selling them, among other things. Over $70K worth 😳😬

We get one guy in as soon as we open who gets a dark roast, black, double cup. Another guy gets a venti peppermint mocha frap, add frap chips, and a venti water. Another guy always places a mobile order and gets a pup cup for his long haired wiener dogs.

ETA: the nail salon ladies come in from the salon and get a venti quad espresso with extra ice and six pumps of white mocha, gives us the cash, and then leaves while we make it. They come back after ten minutes and grab it.

the Tiffany drink: grande coffee frappuccino with 17 pumps of frap roast, 1.5 pumps mocha, extra cream, extra ice, extra whip, in a venti cup, served with a trenta water on a cupholder.

it is served in both a venti and a grande. we should be charging her for these mods bc of how much we use but she pitches a *huge* fit if you try. she also asks who made it and some people never make it right (despite making it exactly the same way). she *will* send it back if it doesn't taste right.

honorable mention is jason: 6 blonde shots, 9 pumps of mocha, 6 pumps of peppermint, light almond milk, extra ice, in a trenta cup. or he’ll get the same drink but 9 pumps of vanilla, 6 pumps of brown sugar when we didn’t have peppermint. he has a great personality and whenever he comes in the drive thru, he’ll always say “hey hun! it’s jason” and a lot of the baristas at our store know his order by heart

my least favorite is jamie. she gets a venti mocha frappuccino, caramel syrup, extra caramel drizzle, double ristretto, add sea salt. she handed me cash, said she had change, then proceeded to take change from our tip jar. left a bad taste in my mouth ever since

quad/six shot espresso over ice, 2-3 long shots, 2-3 ristretto, all decaf, in a venti cup, light ice, with sweet cream (she watches us put the sweet cream in so she can tell us when to stop), and a grande cup of ice. she used to ask for sweet cream on the side, until our sm saw how much she was asking us to put in the cup because we should’ve been charging her for a cup of cold milk basically. she’s really sweet though, but definitely a confusing order for any new employee who doesn’t know how to ring it up but all the main baristas know how to make it even if they ring it up the wrong way lol

also have another regular who comes in every day without fail who orders two trenta blacked iced tea refills and a grande cup of ice water, and likes to watch us (almost pressed up against the glass by the pick up area) make the drinks. she’s really sweet though and has been coming for years.

He’ll ignore you or tell you that you don’t need it to make his coffee. 💀

If memory serves we rang it up as a hot chocolate but I think there were shots too? It’s been 3 years since I worked at sbux and it’s (mostly) stuck with me. She wasn’t nice about it either - was a shove the cup in your face and not say anything type.

We had a lot of regulars since we were in an office building, but most of them were lovely!

There is a couple with rhyming names who mobile order two venti coffee fraps with 13 (!!) pumps of froast every day, one with whip and one without. They consistently pick up their order via drive thru and they need their stuff made fresh (this was negotiated before my time with the siren) so the bar partner has to wait to make it until they get word that "Jane and Dwayne" are in line. Ive never had any unpleasantness from them but cynically I assume they must have complained a lot for us to have a routine for them like that.

My favorite regular orders a trenta SAL light ice and an extra large pup cup (like a tall cup) for her enormous dog whose snout is simply too big for the usual cups. The dog is super polite and his human is too, seeing them is genuinely soothing.

L - Mobile-orders either one or two Venti Iced Black Teas with no liquid cane, depending on whether she’s seeing her friend, a Venti Iced Latte with 6 pumps of vanilla, and the last drink used to be a Venti Iced Latte with 6 pumps Sf Cinammon Dolce, then changes to a Grand Iced Triple Latte with Sf Cinammon Dolce, and now it’s a Grande Iced Triple Sf Vanilla Latte (rip Cinnamon Dolce). Straws but no drink carrier.

Mic - Mobile-orders a Trenta Iced Green Tea, no water, no ice, and immediately demands a refill when she picks it up. She takes half a tea pitcher.

Mik - Venti Hot 7-pump chai, no water, no foam, no room, 190 degrees, extra extra cinnamon powder steamed in. Drinks it on the spot and will usually have you remake it at least once, although he’s nice enough about it. We ran out of cinnamon but one day a generic store-brand Cinammon shaker appeared labeled with his name so I guess he bought us some specifically for his drink.

J - Tall Hot Blonde Soy Vanilla Latte, no foam, no room (currently drawing a blank on whether it’s extra hot). She’s always screaming at her kids and unless there’s ABSOLUTELY NO FOAM OR BUBBLES she makes us remake it, which is pretty much impossible with soy. Allegedly opened her drink and dumped it out into the drive through right in front of the partner on DTR.

Too many liquids girl - Always comes about half an hour before close, Venti Iced Black Tea Lemonade with peach and coconut milk.

Too much pumpkin dude: Venti Pumkin Cream Cold Brew with 4 pumps vanilla, 7 pumps pumpkin

K: Two Venti Iced Black Teas, no water, extra ice, Trenta cup.

Mobile order: Short dark roast in a Venti cup, 12 shots, 8 pumps White Mocha on the side, Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold foam and caramel drizzle on another side. (She waits to mobile it until she’s in the store to tell us the make them on the side.) We realized that she’s cheating the star system (since it’s technically a brewed coffee, only 50 stars). Came two days in a row and never again, thank god. Those 12 shots were a pain.

Chai that costs more than my wage - Venti Iced Chai ($4.95) with a quad shot ($3.60), oatmilk (70¢), two pumps vanilla (50¢), two pumps pumpkin (60¢), PCCF ($1), and Pumpkin Topping (70¢). Comes out to a whopping $13.09 after tax.

Venti decaf mocha, no whip. 😊
