technically ur not supposed to but no one rly follows that rule, at least not at my store. if ur dm were to see u do that u would probably get in trouble so just be careful
b99__throwaway 25 points 1y ago
def don’t do 2 ventis if your dm is there
Prudent_Preparation1 44 points 1y ago
saw a shift do 3 ventis lol insanee
IAMACHRISTMASWIZARD 10 points 1y ago
bro howw lmao our blenders barely fit two ventis and a tall
Loh-Doh 30 points 1y ago
Slap a shaker lid on top of the blender lid before closing the plexi-guard and pray for the best.
lechatsombre 9 points 1y ago
Shift here -Batch blended three Ventis this morning. While telling my baristas to look away. We had a car order five venti Carmel ribbons. Pro tip, you need to either hold the lid down or put a short cup on top so the blender shield holds it.
b99__throwaway 9 points 1y ago
“while telling my baristas to look away” amen. every time. i’m putting 4 sandwiches in rn bc we only have one oven? look away ladies don’t do what i’m doing
DragonS0l 2 points 1y ago
3? I was able to make 4 lol. Granted they were caramel crunches so they took a little less frapp lol
Prudent_Preparation1 1 points 1y ago
insaneee thats so scary lol i bet it was watery from all the base?
lemonuponlemon 20 points 1y ago
Fair, thanks!
TwoDallas 9 points 1y ago
There is a youtuber that is at a licensed kiosk that does this. When I first saw that I was like wow.
smallangrybarista 64 points 1y ago
Hey, UK partner here. Every drink is meant to be "individually handcrafted", so you're not supposed to batch blend fraps. That's the official stance on it.

If district is in, or your manager is a proper stickler for the "rules", don't do it in front of them. Otherwise, it literally does not matter. It still tastes the same.

That being said, do whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you're in a high volume store in the summer tho, just batch blend those caramel creme fraps - it'll literally save you so much time and grief.
lemonuponlemon 5 points 1y ago
Thank you so much!
killrdarknes 49 points 1y ago
Right to jail /s
As long as you’re doing your math right, sure. During a busy peak I do, lol.
MountainGoat999 41 points 1y ago
2 in one blender? Try 4. 5 if you're daring.
dkr1829 14 points 1y ago
My best record is 4 venti caramel frap 😂😂
lemonuponlemon 4 points 1y ago
Don’t tempt me!!
rterrebo 2 points 1y ago
Bet!
SelocAvrap 23 points 1y ago
Policy says don't

I don't work for the company anymore so I can say if they're the same exact frapp, fucking go for it

DON'T BATCH SIMILAR DRINKS, ONLY THE SAME

No batching caramel and dark caramel

No batching different kinds of milks

But yes absolutely batch the 6 tall strawberry frapps MahKaylee ordered for her kids. Put a dome lid on top of the blender before you close the cover & it'll even hold it shut for you
kimememememe 4 points 1y ago
Or if the shakers are free use an upside down shaker lid! Learned this literally just yesterday lol
yirium 1 points 1y ago
Why no batching caramel?
SelocAvrap 4 points 1y ago
You can batch caramel with caramel or dark caramel with dark caramel, you just can't mix the two bc they're different

That one is especially important bc mixing those two can expose people to allergens

Either way, you should only batch drinks if they are exactly the same recipe
yirium 1 points 1y ago
Ohhhhhhhhh that makes sense I thought you were saying don't batch any caramel drinks for some reason
SelocAvrap 2 points 1y ago
All good

Absolutely batch caramel drinks. And with the caramel ribbon crunch, you can make 2-3 instead of 3-4 & it'll still fill the cups if you have multiple bc it goes on top of whipped cream and dark caramel sauce, so batching actually prevents waste sometimes if you do it right
Darius_Kel 19 points 1y ago
We call it batching.
SpookySteve 17 points 1y ago
Is it illegal? Yes. Is it more efficient? Yes. Does it fall in line more accurately with the orders for shorter wait times on drinks than making them individually? Yes. Knowing what you know now, should you do it? That's for you to decide. All I can say is don't let anyone who doesn't do it catch you if you do.
JeanLucPicardsAss 15 points 1y ago
Until the people who create standards are on frap bar during peak on a hot summer day, making fraps ONE BY ONE while keeping fast drive times (without crying), im batching idc
The_Infinite_Doctor 11 points 1y ago
If you don't batch blend, especially during peak, you're working harder not smarter.

There is *no* reason not to batch except overflowing the blender, in which case just know the blender's capacity.
pranasoup 8 points 1y ago
ur fired
lemonuponlemon -2 points 1y ago
Not helpful.
pranasoup 12 points 1y ago
sorry, i was trying to make you laugh… *anyway,* no you are not supposed to do it. you won’t get in trouble but you will be coached, likely in the moment, by higher ups if they see it. we make one bev at a time and sequence the ones that call for it. hope that answer helps.
lemonuponlemon 4 points 1y ago
Ah, sorry, it came across to me as being sarcastic rather than joking - my bad! Thank you!
[deleted] [OP] 7 points 1y ago
life hack, if you have a crème frap and a caffe frap, make both together as a creme based one. pour the creme one into the cup, put frap roast in blender, reblend for a few seconds and there you go. extra illegal.
kqs13 2 points 1y ago
These use different bases, don't do this! There absolutely is a flavor difference. I definitely batch fraps but only if they're the same.
ofmyselfthankyou 2 points 1y ago
I’d say the flavor difference between bases is so minimal that it isn’t worth worrying about. No more than the difference it makes when people forget to correct for the difference between hot/cold bar pumps or when they accidentally over pour the milk. The overwhelming majority of customers can’t tell a difference at all and/or wouldn’t care enough to wait for a new one anyway. And we already don’t follow standards all the time…I really, really doubt your manager would tell you not to sell any coffee based frapps just because you only have creme base syrup in stock.

Edit: obviously I’m saying this if the only difference between the two is whether or not it’s coffee based. Also, I think a better argument for not just adding frapp roast to what’s left and re-blending for a few seconds is the change in consistency. Sounds like it would come out watery…
[deleted] [OP] 0 points 1y ago
I simply do not care enough
aphroditus_xox 2 points 1y ago
this is exactly my energy lmao 😂
lemonuponlemon 2 points 1y ago
Aren’t you using different bases though?
[deleted] [OP] 0 points 1y ago
eh I usually just use creme for both. it’s definitely not correct but when I have 12 frapps to make it helps in a pinch
OneRoseDark 0 points 1y ago
use the creme base. the difference is a small amount of coffee flavoring in the coffee base that i literally do not think is noticeable given how often i use the wrong one in my own fraps.
meglizlud 1 points 1y ago
there is literally so much wrong with this. the milk to frappe roast is off. wrong bases bestie??? D:
[deleted] [OP] 2 points 1y ago
if i’m in a rush with 12 frapps to make I do not care
TemplarSensei7 7 points 1y ago
(White guy blinking meme) illegal?

I call it practical. Don’t think my former DM mind it too much.
dazedinreverse 7 points 1y ago
Don't do it in front of the dm but is for sm or gm say ita ok go for it. As long as they are the same and not supposed to be made with a different milk
cdog141 5 points 1y ago
I remember when all partners were given a copy of Howard's book.. We tried blending ours. It didn't work and the blender broke. Smoke started to come out of it. Not good.
nicathor 4 points 1y ago
Yeah, technically we're not supposed to, but if they don't want us making drinks as quickly as possible by batch frapping, *then they shouldn't demand we make drinks as quickly as possible*
chuckywucky 3 points 1y ago
My DM came in to help when short staffed and batch blended 4 ventis at once. Sooooo
lemonuponlemon 3 points 1y ago
Report them to the police!!! 🚨🚓🔐
xkcismex 3 points 1y ago
i be putting four ventis in one blender and then hold the lid closed. rush is no joke
spacespecterr 5 points 1y ago
when it’s peak and there are 300 cars parked in the DT lane… what goes on on cold bar is between me and the siren
xkcismex 2 points 1y ago
goddamn right
xkcismex 2 points 1y ago
i will say that it does not go super well, thanks for the whip god
rterrebo 3 points 1y ago
I don't think batching is a big deal because it makes pouring drinks more efficient. If my DM had a problem with it, then I'd tell them. Tough rocks. This is how I do. Lol
Kimmikkokat 2 points 1y ago
Most of my SSVs don't care. There is one who will only "allow" batching 2 talls, since it's the same recipe as a venti. But just do what you need to and know who you're on the floor with. Watching your fellow teammates will help you decide when it's ok if it's a sore subject at your store.

You will learn tricks over time to cut time while batching, and even batching shaken drinks is possible if you know the recipes and your floor well enough.

But technically yes, it's not allowed.
RoughEvidence 2 points 1y ago
It depends on who is watching you tbh
mastermanifestor111 1 points 1y ago
Lol I make 4 in 1
Stovetopstuffnbox 1 points 1y ago
Technically only one drink at a time, but when my manager heard me pumping three ventis at once she knew to look away
OddDifficulty3774 1 points 1y ago
Yes if you make 2 in one blender you forfeit your life
nordeliachase 1 points 1y ago
you can batch 3 venti’s in the same blender if you need to, but make sure the blender cover thing is on and put a dome lid on top to keep it from overflowing.

just don’t do it in from of your bosses!
stropha_ 1 points 1y ago
it's not standard but i almost always batch blend because my current store is always so busy. as long as you keep the recipes right, you can pass off any fraps as "handcrafted".
CommanderWar64 1 points 1y ago
It makes zero sense to not batch blend, sorry
joeyisdoinurmum 1 points 1y ago
Don't tell the feds
Necessary_Low939 1 points 1y ago
I always make more than one drink at a time if I have a rush 👀👀 and I don’t care
mulderufo13 1 points 1y ago
Lol if we didn’t batch we would never get anything done. Blender go brrrrrrr when I put multiples in 🥴
National-Chance2406 1 points 1y ago
nope u know what , u save ur own time! and drive thru time, it should never be “illegal”!!! well as long as it fits in the blender
drinkliquidclocks 1 points 1y ago
Yeah it's against standard but it doesn't hurt anything or lower the quality at all. 2 ventis is pushing it but anything less than that is totally good
KobeJay22 2 points 1y ago
Iv done 3 venti, you just have to hold down the lid lol
drinkliquidclocks 1 points 1y ago
Me too, it will work but it makes a concerning sound and I certainly don't want to be the one to break our expensive ass blenders 💀
dylsWRLD740 1 points 1y ago
i’ve seen my SM watch someone do that, let them finish and then dumped it in the sink. It’s an order accuracy/taste issue i suppose but it is a big no no at least for my store
spacespecterr 1 points 1y ago
been doin it since 2015, also ssv instructed. lol. it’s just one of the lifehacks us baristas have coined to save us our own sanity. you’re good as long as no one higher up sees it happening! even then, most people won’t care much.
forwardaboveallelse 1 points 1y ago
My SM and SSV told me that if I’m not ‘batching’ then I’m not bartending properly. 😅 This is the first that I am hearing of it being a forbidden practice.
ChemicalBarnacle 1 points 1y ago
I do it all the time lol
