My neck, my back... (self.starbucksbaristas)

Burnt bean here in the middle of a much needed coffee break after a long, arduous 10 years at the Bux. I just had a friendly psa for y’all. After some medical investigation, I’ve found out I have spondylosis, or degenerative arthritis, of the neck and lumbar spine. My doctors attribute this to repetitive motions such as looking downwards for long periods of time (especially with a lopsided, 50 pound headset on), squatting and twisting (Warming, I’m looking at you!), and bending over (these short arms aren’t gonna go-go gadget your TikTok drink into your cup holder, ma’am). Professions with similar repetitive strain patterns are plumbers, painters, tile layers, etc. If you’re debating between being a barista or a plumber, I’d go with the plumber.
