Question about Coffee Markout? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Braveheart1451
Hello everyone, green bean here!

I’ve heard that employees get a free pound of coffee every week, and was just wondering if anyone could help with some questions I have.

1.) Is there a limit on the blends? Like can I only get certain ones or is it free for whatever ones the store has?

2.) Can I grab it on my day off, and how would that work? I don’t have any shirts for the rest of the week and forgot earlier so I was wondering if I’d still be able to grab mine tomorrow. Also how it would work, do I just tell them that I’m an employee who is getting my markout and give my numbers?

Help and information is very much appreciated!

3 year partner and shift supervisor here:

1. It typically applies to any blend that is available at ***all*** retail locations (the core blends like siren's, veranda, Yukon, etc. as well as the seasonal and special release such as Christmas/Holiday, Casi Cielo, etc.) but the ***all*** is very relevant, as the Reserve stores and certain markets have blends and releases that are not eligible for partner markouts, such as stores in Hawaii that sell Kona coffee or the Reserve Vietnamese Du Lat, etc.

2. You can get it on your day off, and at other stores as well. If you use your partner numbers you might have to show i.d. in order to verify yourself, but if you use your partner card or $1, this won't be necessary. I should also mention, you don't have to be in Starbucks dress code to just get your coffee markout, as you are essentially only acting in the capacity of a customer while doing so.

Edited to hyperlink to another comment about linking the partner card

see but are we still supposed to ask for a id if it’s linked to the app. mines linked and i still get asked once in a while when i go to a different store

You shouldn't need to show i.d. if your partner card is linked to your app, because by doing so it automatically applies the discount on the register, and anything you are marking out for free you should be able to just tell who ever is working the register that you are using your partner markout instead of discount. Just explain that to whoever is on the register.

1. Make sure you’re a corporate store partner and not a licensed store employee. Licensed stores have their own benefits that are different from corporate partners.

2. Any one-pound coffee bags, excluding any that are part of a holiday gift pack or any reserve coffees.

3. Any time between Monday and Sunday. It doesn’t have to be during your shift. And you can only get your Markout for that current week. So don’t forget, otherwise you lose that week’s Markout.

A week is Monday - Sunday. You can get any one pound whole bean or VIA (core or promo). You cannot get the 1/2lb reserve coffees, though sometimes there will be extra at the end of promo and there will be a weekly update saying if you find some you can substitute reserve instead.

any bags of coffee displayed will count as your mark out :) and you can get it on your day off, just go to the person up front and tell them you’re using your weekly markout and tell them your partner numbers.
