I’m usually a closer… Our store is closing at 2 for the next couple of weeks. To receive my hours I’m having to come in early. I absolutely can’t stand morning shifts. Shout out to all the baristas who always get scheduled early mornings.

I’m an opener and I can’t imagine staying awake late enough to close. I would feel like I’ve spent all day waiting for my shift instead of doing anything productive. Switching between opening and closing would be awful, though, bodies get used to a certain schedule and it takes time to get used to a new one.

Kiosk 7:30am opener here, used to be corporate 4:30am opener. It’s possibly my favourite shift bc the day goes by so quick and I still have time to run errands or relax at home. I can’t stand closing shifts bc I feel like my whole day is straight up wasted and that makes me super anxious!

Same on all accounts. When I open I feel like my day is still my own, when I work a 9-5 or closing shift (anywhere) it’s so draining and makes me super anxious because I feel like my entire day revolves around work only.

I was an opener. I preferred it, lol. I'm quite perky and happy and it seemed to make the day go better. Plus being off by 12 was great. I always got a nap!!

I'm relatively new and my boss keeps putting me on early shifts... I live an easy 45 minutes away too. I just changed my schedule for the new year to aim for closing shifts more. Plus the closer trains me better from my lack thereof earlier.
