really feeling the shortages right now/our store had a fun time yesterday (self.starbucksbaristas)

thus far our store has been doing better than many for stock (we have cinnamon dolce, hazelnut, toffee nut and raspberry, just no honey blend) but yesterday everything tried to run out all at once. we had no sandwiches and no loaves, no coffee cake and no croissants.
on top of the lack of food, around 2pm all of our sticker printers decided they were done printing anything other than mobiles so we were stuck staring at the drive thru screen and printing receipts to get drinks made. it wouldn’t have been as bad if we were taught the codes for marking cups but since weve been a sticker store for the last forever almost nobody knows the codes.
THEN like 10 minutes to close our drive thru register went offline so we couldnt take payments:’) (side note: our debit machine dies every time its cold for too long, ‘too long’ apparently being 5 trips out the drive thru window-_-)
i dont start until 2pm today, really hoping everything’s been fixed🤞🏼

Just fyi in case this happens again, the codes for cups are what show up in the little tabs on the right side of the screen. I would also recommend keeping your card reader inside, and if need be using gloves to handle credit cards so that it isn't exposed to the elements.

oh yeah the machine stays inside, usually as far from the window as it can get when its slow lol. also i try to pay attention to the little boxes but it hasnt really been a priority until now

thought id update a random internet stranger and let you know im now working at a licensed store for the summer and will be able to confidently write on cups back home if we ever have another sticker crisis
..although it may not help if i have to explain every cup to people that dont know the codes lol

I work at a retail Starbucks that just reopened after renovations and our boss didn’t fully prepare for how busy we’d be. At some point during our first month open we were simultaneously out of oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, cold brew, frappucino base, hazel nut and toffee nut (which are obviously still out), very berry hibiscus refresher, and matcha. I work closing and we’re still consistently out of almost all pastries and sandwiches when I start my shifts at 2.
All this to say I feel you, friend. The other day an entire fridge unit at the retail store we’re in went down and we lost ALL heavy cream. It was a bit painful telling every single customer “sorry, today we have no whipped cream and no sweet cream for cold foams!”

the managers have been trying everything:’) they called someone about it around 3pm yesterday and we were supposed to get a call back about it within the hour
