Hey yall :] so as the title says my town is not in great shape. My store manager sent us a group text about us having resources and to focus on ourselves and our families along with more food items we are allowed to mark out this week. I just wanted to say I'm grateful for my store and how kind my workplace is about all of this. I left my old job at Walmart to work here and I haven't regret it at all as I'm hearing Walmart is threatening people who leave early today-- despite the actual horrific sights from last night. I am grateful for the new environment and though I'm very lucky compared to most others I'm very shaken up and again, just super happy to be here and happy for what I do have.
That being said does anyone have any information about what we can do to help each other during all of this? As of right now I can't even drive anywhere.
Sending lots of love!

Take care of yourself. Was any Starbucks affected?

I think one of the stores in my town currently has no power. My store is unaffected and we are trying to help them right now

First of all I am very sorry you and the people you live with are going through this. The small town near where I live in rural Indiana had a devastating tornado in 2013 and I'm just going to throw out a bunch of things and hopefully some of it will be helpful,
Does anyone have power? People will need to charge cell phones to let others know they are ok.
Does anyone have a working gas grill? These things can be extremely helpful for people to cook the food that may be spoiling in their refrigerators and freezers.
Does anyone have a chainsaw? Those can at least get people out of their garages and/or trees away from streets until the city/state can get there.
Boil your water, just to be safe. If your town has not yet come out with a "boil order" drink bottled water or boil the water you drink or cook with until they tell you the water is safe to drink.
People will have lost pets. As in they will be running lose. If you or anyone else has the ability start a FaceBook page for "Lost/Found pets from my town"
Call your insurance company if you haven't already about any damage to your home or car(s)
Hopefully the Red Cross is on their way or already there. FEMA should be as well.
Best wishes to you and everyone else that is going through this. Be kind to yourself.
