Schedule changes without notification (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by orsonvulture
Hi, title sort of self explanatory. My SM changed my schedule to where I'm working over a week straight with zero notification so my off days on the previous schedule I am now working. I only realized because I checked the first schedule I have saved and saw the difference. I was just wondering what course of action I should take because I don't want to be a pushover but I also don't want to screw my other partners over. Any advice is appreciated!

def message him! Tell him you’re scheduled on your off days when you shouldn’t be. hold your ground too

Yeah, that's what I want to do mainly because I've had managers at previous jobs straight up call me a pushover and I don't want to be seen as someone who can just be shoved around. I appreciate it, I will probably call early tomorrow to let them know. I just want to make sure I can't get in trouble for it or anything I guess haha cause other than this I really like the job.

I firmly but politely say I have appointments already scheduled so the changes are not possible. If I had proper heads up I might've been able to, but now it's too late.

The appointments are anything from specialist medical visits to having lunch with friends, but he don't need to know that. I got appointments. Good day.

I’d definitely go with this. If they come out with the schedule a week or two in advanced we plan around that, they can’t just make changes when they feel like it and expect us to cancel our plans/appointments.

I think that's definitely a good route because during the interview quite a few months back now I stressed heavily on work life balance. Thank you for the input, I appreciate it a ton!
