managers are forced to “over hire” partners right now because of the amount of call outs and isolations that leave stores short staffed and then partners can pick up hours when people make them available with call outs/isolations. Wish they could just give us more labor where they could give everyone hours and it doesn’t make a difference in the store when people call out/isolate

Having a similar issue at my store but it's more of a punishment thing. SM says that every time she tries to call a person in for a shift and they don't, or they won't stay late, she's hiring a new Barista and giving everyone less hours. I really feel you there. If push comes to shove and your SM isn't doing what you think is the right thing take it higher.
