tips from corporate stores (licensee on campus) (self.starbucksbaristas)

so i’m becoming a supervisor at my licensee store and there’s many things i wanna start enforcing. to those who have worked in both, or one or the other. what is something that is typically seen in a licensee store that may be overlooked but needs to be done?

I work at a corporate store but What I’ve noticed when observing is a lot of the time baristas aren’t trained properly on how to make drinks. I’ve ordered from licensed stores and they tend to make it wrong (I get it human error) but it’s majority of the time. I would maybe recommend if you see this happen, to coach them on the correct recipes?

that’s something we face, but i know that there are steps that we are taking to try to limit that. they just haven’t figured out a set plan to do so.

Yeah understandable, it’s something difficult to create a plan for all the baristas. Maybe try reassuring your baristas “if you are unsure with any recipe or drink just let me know so I can help,” and also every time there’s a launch, try to make sure every barista watched the training videos and knows how to make the drinks after the training video? Sorry I’m just throwing stuff out there

This may vary with licensed stores but also reinforcing closing tasks, sometimes it’s overlooked even with corporate store but also heavily recommended

as a former corporate to LS i feel like drink sequencing isnt really taught

how do we teach that? i’ve always thought that it comes with time. we do teach the basics of sequencing but trainees actually performing it takes time and skill, right?
