If you get rehired within one year of leaving the company they have to start you off at the rate you were making before. Since wages have gone up a tiny bit since you left the company, the pay difference should be added to your previous wage.
I left the company for a few months in 2009 and got rehired. They started me off at base pay. It wasn’t caught until about 4 or 5 years later. Ended up getting an almost $4k check for all the pay I was shorted.

You’d have to negotiate and ask for it

what do you mean?

If they offer you the position, ask for more money then they are offering and see if they can accommodate your request.
and when I say ask for more money, I mean provide a case that based on your previous experience with the company and your current life situation you would like to request a higher starting rate. Worst they can say is no.

I quit for a few months and came back. My manage submitted a request and got my pay reinstated, but there was no retroactive pay for the time I was at base pay. Hope that helps!
