Is this an allowed write up? (self.starbucksbaristas)

So my SM is getting annoyed with everyone switching shifts lately which is understandable but it isn’t like we are leaving no coverage. Anyway, today he said that if we get a shift covered and that person calls out it is the original person’s responsibility to still come in and work and if they don’t it will be a write up for them as well as the person that covered.
As someone who has worked many other customer service jobs this sounds not right to be at all so I wanted to see if this was SB policy or not.

It’s super important that switched shifts are documented in an official way. If someone’s taking your shift (or vice versa) make sure it gets written in the book for that day or on the DCR. If there is no documentation, then yes it’s a fair write up. Otherwise, once someone claims a shift and it’s documented, that’s theirs now.

To add to this, you can also swap shifts in the partner hour app!

If you swap shifts with someone, that person is 100% responsible for that shift. If they don’t show up for that shift, you are not responsible for that nor are you required to work it.
