SSV Question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lizzie9234
So I am currently planning on applying as an SSV to a location in Glendale/Phoenix, AZ and was just wondering if y’all would be able to say what you guys get paid now. I currently work at a licensed location and make $13.70 but have had some issues arise due to the location of the store. Along with this, what does a typical day look like for you when working as a SSV? I have a friend who is currently one and I just wanted to know if there were any real differences based on store to store. Also any suggestions will be super helpful!

I’m an SSV (3 year partner tho) in the East valley area. I make $16.86 an hour. Specific tasks vary by day part for shift stuff. Outside of running the floor/breaks/being on the floor, shifts are responsible for milk counts, food pulls, all money stuff, inventory counts, taking temperatures, and daily orders/putting orders away. Some stores definitely do things differently but in general those things all stay the same, it’s really just more barista tasks that change store to store imo.

I worked last night so I can go over what that was like. I got in at 1pm was caught up on where they were at. Hoped on bar for a bit before moving to POS/warming. Spent time tasking and running breaks (including a 10 for myself) until 4pm. Then started a food pull. Did some more on the floor stuff until 5:30 and then took a lunch. Once I got back, I did temps and was on bar. Ran breaks/delegated tasks. Couple minutes before close at 8pm, I locked up and wiped stuff down. Then immediately started all money tasks. After that did my milk count, food donation, and an inventory count. From then until a bit before 9:30 I just helped clean, do prep and stock stuff. Did a final walk down/wipe through and locked up at 9:30. It was a fairly average day
