I hate saying this because I used to have a bad problem with compulsive lying, but i legitimately would have just lied to her about how she gets it made. 220 degrees? Smile, nod, say okay to her, and then steam the milk to the highest temperature you're comfortable with doing. They won't be able to tell the damn difference anyway. Barista safety is more important than endangering yourself to heat milk to literal scalding temperatures.

Honestly just find the highest up manager and have them deal with it. Your a barista, calming down customers isn’t your job

Am a bit late but I’m a 3 year partner and have had my fair share of asshole customers so I’d love to add my two cents if I may. I used to be timid (not saying you are at all) but now I love saying no to stupid (and dangerous) requests. Just tell them straight up that you can’t do that- like you did. It’s not like you’re in the wrong at all. First of all the machines literally cannot go past 185 MAX or else it could damage the machine
(learned from a tech) and “I know everyone here”
And “every other store does it for me” is a classic bullshit line they all use. The simple fact is that the request is in violation of company policy and it’s extremely dangerous. Whether other stores do it for her or not is irrelevant and if she has a problem then give her your SM card or get your ssv to tell them to fuck off for you.
Ugh typing this gave me flash backs of an irate woman on the verge of verbally abusing me bc I refused to give her the extra Frappuccino drink in a second cup (which is also against policy) but you already know she hit me wit da “BUT MY HOME STORE DOES IT FOR ME” then go there, bitch!
Anyway, much love from one partner to another 🤝
