I saw a post on tik tok about how if you get lavender syrup latte with oat milk you’re supposed to be superior
I know we don’t carry lavender but just curious if any other baristas has heard or know about this

ok listen don't knock it til you try it, sbux isn't cool enough to have any floral syrups, but a lot of smaller independent cafes do offer fancier flavors like lavender for lattes. i LOVE lavender/floral flavors in coffee, i've also had a vietnamese coffee with rose petals which was so good.

My go-to drink is an iced London fog because it's as close as I can get to a lavender oatmilk latte. The early gray we use has a noticeable touch of lavender (i work in a licensed store, so idk if "regular starbucks" earl gray does as well) It's one of my favorite "fancy" flavors.

Ha ha! My store falls into this stereotype so hard!! I work in a licensed store that's staffed predominantly by LGBTQ individuals. "THE drink" at our store is an iced London fog made with oatmilk. (Idk if regular stores use the same teas that we do, but the earl gray we use has a very noticeable lavender taste)

We don’t carry lavender. I’ve seen the exact tiktok and it’s from an entirely different café not linked to Starbucks.
It’s probably just seen as a superior drink because oatmilk is preferable by many baristas. Hope this helps!

Lavender syrup has existed pretty much forever; it’s common to boil an herb/flower in sugar water and my favorite is Elderflower. Lots of local coffee shops have used it in lattes, and it is becoming more and more common especially as it does pair better with oat milk than dairy milk in my opinion. I guess I could see Starbucks getting it someday but I don’t think it would really be on the table for us anytime soon.
(Y’all should really grab a bottle of elderflower syrup from IKEA and mix with sparkling water [or sparkling wine]. Not at all like lavender and my favorite drink ever)

lavender is my fav syrup. i don’t go to other coffee shops now since i get free caffeine when i need it, but i used to get iced oatmilk lavender chai lattes ALL THE TIME and it’s so good 😭

OMG. no we don’t have lavender syrup. many small, independent coffee shops have lavender lattes and they’re SO GOOD. I made some lavender syrup for my coworkers at work, and they loved it

I have a vial of lavender oil from a project a while ago, and I keep toothpicks soaking in it to throw in my coffee at home. I think floral coffees are pretty dang underrated, especially lavender (rose is good too).
Seems like I'm seeing more about floral coffee recently, though, do maybe it's gonna be a bit of a fad (and hopefully stick around after the novelty fades!).

One of the local cafes in my resort town has a latte with cardamom and lavender, it's incredibly delicious. Really wish Starbucks would implement a lavender syrup at the least, it would be amazing

It's fucking amazing. The cafe near my store has this and it's called a "wallflower" lmao.
Protip: mix 2-3tbs of dried lavender blooms, half cup of sugar, and a cup of water in a saucepan, stir and let simmer till sugar is gone, sit for 30 mins off heat, then strain liquid into a glass jar, refrigerate. BOOM homemade lavender syrup (I take it into work w me and make drinks)

Can ANY other SB baristas agree with me that Oat milk AINT IT? It’s some of the worst tasting milk I’ve ever had, my coworker says it’s the best but I’m starting to think I’m insane because it’s just….dry, and taste like the after taste of oatmeal. I know it’s opinions but I think I just really disliked it and she hypes it up to every customer but I’m like…..uhhh no, not suggested

I’ve been wanting to try a lavender latte! I live in NYC so there’s plenty of coffee shops that sell it but working at Starbucks I rarely go to other places anymore unfortunately.
It doesn’t seem too unlike Starbucks to try something like this as a spring drink in the future. I could see it, but I also could see it being a massive disappointment. Maybe it’s just the aesthetic, but I feel like a lavender honey oat milk latte *has* to be from a small coffee shop. You can’t corporate that.

YES. I work at a little franchise Starbucks and we get our own lavender (DEAR CUSTOMERS: FRANCHISE STORES AND CORPORATE STORES DONT CARRY LAVENDER) and I make an iced honey oat milk latte with a lavender sweet cream cold foam. And it’s chefs kiss perfection.

My local new leaf grocery store ( dono if it’s all stores ) has lavender syrup, and like yes a lavender oatmilk latte or even like a black tea latte w lavender and oatmilk is pretty good. I would say give it a try at least once.
