Does anyone else try to speedrun mobile orders when working at Window? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Mask3dFox
So I've been working for Starbucks for about a month and a couple of weeks and they've basically kept me stuck on window the entire time. I get it, most of the time they have me working morning peak and I'm the new guy so just about anyone is gonna be faster at making drinks than I will be and honestly I don't wanna deal with that amount of stress yet anyway.

Anyway, all that being said working Window is pretty damn boring, especially if we have someone working on Warming, at which point I feel like I'm just an overpaid drink server. So to make things a little more interesting I've decided to "speedrun" any mobile orders I get. Pretty simple, if we have a mobile come through Drive, and it's all prepped, I give it out as fast as I can and try to see how low I can get it down. My currently PB is 7 seconds, and my average is probably about 10. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone does this and what some other peoples PB's would be.

Sounds fun, but you’re definitely working too hard for what you’re being paid.

*flash backs to being on register my first 3 months*
You gotta ask for bar time when it slows down if you want to really learn and get fastee

Yeah, been trying to but the at best I only work like an hour after our peak is done because I mostly during morning peaks with like 1 day a weak I may work afternoon's peak and close.

Yes, it’s fun to be ready with a mobile and get them on their way quickly! Especially when it’s just one beverage. I have it in my hand as they drive up, have a straw just in case. The customer s like it and they have the app so they’re the ones getting the connections survey, it’s all good.
