It depends on what time you close. There are built in scheduling restrictions for minors that won't even let the SM schedule before or after a certain time and no more than 4 hours.

That’s definitely not across the board, either, because all minors at my store work more than 4 hour shifts.

ah okay! We close at 8 currently, but supposed to close at 10. Because more often than not, I’m working 2 or 3 to 8:30 now on a school day :,)

Once you turn 17 the restrictions are eased up considerably. If you are under 17 the system won't allow your SM to schedule you more than 4 hours. At least at a corporate store.

I think it depends on state. There were rules for 14-15 year olds and separate rules for 16-17 years old where I’ve worked. They’ve never been more lax at 17. One big sign that they are breaking labor laws is if they’re always written into the schedule because the system will not let you schedule a minor outside of that states labor laws.

Depends on your hours and Arizona’s child labor laws but I’m a minor in California and I close on most weekdays.
