The store being understaffed is a Starbucks problem. Try not to let them convince you that a Starbucks problem is your problem. You need to take care of yourself first. It’s kind of you to consider them, but honestly they’re a huge corporation and the feeling would not be reciprocated. Just take the day to try to get your car fixed so you can make it for your other shifts. Otherwise, taking a cab and spending the day at work would just postpone your car problem another day. don’t feel guilty for something out of your control! ssv’s get frustrated yes but i’m sure they don’t blame it on you! it’s corporates fault for not letting stores properly staff bc they “can’t afford the labor” (yet they hire new people almost every week) seriously, you’re okay!

Don't feel guilty! It's not your fault the car wouldn't start! And yeah, you just gotta do the math on a cab ride, if it's worth it to you or not to miss the shift. If it's not worth it.... it's not worth it. But you can take your guilt into consideration on the worth-it/ or not scale. Still, I'm with you on the money consideration. It would suck to take a cab that far to a job that then takes like 3 hours to pay for said cab-ride... ☹
