I worked for like 2 and a half months before learning bar they just stuck me in drive everyday
headsinavicee16 points1y ago
Literally me, then I transferred to a Cafe store and actually get to go on bar :-)

i’m in the same boat!! i’ve been working there for 3 months, and i’ve only been on bar once, with no bar training at all. ofc it was a disaster, because i was never trained on bar. someone only decided to step in and help when i tried to make the first latte *three whole times,* and failed miserably every time, only to spill one of the failed attempts allll over the floor. i wasted our last carton of oatmilk that day, rip

It took me 6 months to get bar training and even then it wasn't even the typical training all the new baristas were getting and now I just get put in solo drive thru most of time since I'm good at although I hate solo drive thru
rlblakey1717 points1y ago
I've been with sbux almost 4 months and I'm *just* starting to get more bar time. I'm always on dto/dtr or ovens because that's what I'm fastest on; it took me asking for bar time when we were slow to get more training
FireDragonSabo16 points1y ago
i started bar day 2, is that not the norm? I've been here for four months and I know everything
Fozzybean11 points1y ago
Day 2 is normal.

omogal1232 points1y ago
Bruh i thought mine is bad! I got hired April lmao
[deleted]11 points1y ago
I got fired at the end of my 4 week because of that.
SunflowerinVirgo090310 points1y ago
Because you asked or because you weren't trained? That's lame.
[deleted]16 points1y ago
Both :) They were the ones that told me to ask them. Now I am suing my starbucks.
SunflowerinVirgo09039 points1y ago
Good for you!!!! I hope you get the best outcome possible.
[deleted]14 points1y ago

I’ve been put on bar like six times in the 3 months I’ve worked at my store, warming gets old quick
ChemicalBarnacle6 points1y ago
I wasn’t trained until a year later because the first Starbucks I worked at was sketchy as hell, it doesn’t even exist anymore.
marilynmansonsbitch4 points1y ago
pls explain am intrigued how a bux could he sketchy
ChemicalBarnacle1 points1y ago
No one ever came in, I never got half the training, they barely ever gave us tips on time, and they never told me how closing works so I left the store with one person in it. It closed for a reason.
Indiancheif4 points1y ago
Try 8 months
bigtimelarper3 points1y ago
I haven’t been trained on register at all and I’ve been working there for nearly 2 months lol... granted I was a line cook before so bar came pretty naturally but still
EmoSlut10293 points1y ago
i didnt get training for a month, my coworker has been here for 4 months and still hasnt gotten training
alieneileen3 points1y ago
ive only had 2 hours max of training on bar so far 😅
cinsoring2 points1y ago
meanwhile my second day they put me on bar lmao
W33dprinxess2 points1y ago
After three weeks constantly on warming I said something because people that were hired AFTER me were getting put on bar. Like… ✋🏼😕
Cultural_School_22802 points1y ago
my fifth week and i finally got bar time👏🏻👏🏻
randomweirdmexican2 points1y ago
Been at my location for 3 months and I'm BARELY getting trained and even then it's mostly me asking what's goes in this when I am free and helping front bar.
Acedre1231 points1y ago
The way training is is setup is ridiculous yea sure lets schedule them to train on bar during peak and oh lets make the trainer 1 of 2 required baristas stationed on bar hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

try asking your shift! they wouldnt stick me on bar either but when I would come in, I’d ask before they put anywhere if when it dies down, could I be put on bar perhaps. Some would remember and some wouldnt, but I was able to get okayish (for just starting) at bar by the end of my first month
Tiffyost1 points1y ago
I’ve been there 6 months and maybe 7 days not in a row of training. I’d love to be trained so I could help.
AccomplishedCut47841 points1y ago
I’ve been at my store for almost 3 months now and all of the people who got hired AFTER me get bar time. I get zero bar time Bc I simply don’t remember how to make drinks
AccomplishedCut47841 points1y ago
3rd week? Try 3rd month
animeilove12191 points1y ago
It should technically go by a week to week basis possibly a bit faster depending on you manager and trainer the order varies but posWindow\drive then customer support/ hand off plane /warming/then bar obviously some stores are slower so the hand off position might not exist but being there for three weeks and not having bar time is normal in my opinion some of my trainees have had to wait a month and a half before beginning bar.
