Just got asked if I wanted to become a barista trainer nearly 5 months into the job.(self.starbucksbaristas)

My SM asked if I would like to become one when I clocked in today and I honestly felt lost for words. Idk if I should do it considering there are still some things I still don’t know but I guess I should feel proud of myself for being considered good enough to become one. I was just wondering what do barista trainers get for training because I forgot 😅

I became a trainer 2 months in. There are guided modules you take your trainee through. You don’t have to be perfect at it. Think of it more like you are their buddy and introducing them to the basics and kind of selling them on the job essentially. The real “training” takes place over the weeks and months you’re working, no one retains all that knowledge in the beginning.
Edit: Lots of us forget things or simply don’t know things. Don’t be afraid to ask other trainers or your coworkers.
