so many potential syrups and yet…(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by accountedthrowaway5
no because a blueberry syrup or lavender would honestly be so good in some drinks… like there are so many good potential syrups the bux could introduce and yet we have… raspberry… and brown sugar … 😔
edit: i would looove to know what syrups you guys think would be a great addition to the syrups we already have
srigerman168 points1y ago
Tiramisu, gingerbread, blackberry, rose, passion fruit, cranberry, white peach. I could go on. These are all Monin brand syrups and are amazing! The bux needs to be more original. (I know they have gingerbread in the Uk but not in the US and the tiramisu when they released it was underwhelming)
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]28 points1y ago
this list sounds so pretty! i feel like Canada or Uk have such nice drinks, but the US is very basic lol
QueenBizzle11 points1y ago
Starbucks AU has gingerbread? I thought it was a staple
jugularvoider6 points1y ago
Cranberry for the holidays 😍😍🤤
RareGull3 points1y ago
Isn’t rose in Canada?
holly-mint6 points1y ago
we had blossoming rose tea lattes in Canada but they took away the rose syrup, rose topping, rooibos tea powder and black tea powder overnight without warning 😔 I love the rose and iced black tea coconut milk lattes with sfv were my favourite thing to get as my partner drink at the time so I was very upset when this happened lol
Necessary_Low9392 points1y ago
Didn’t they used to have a tiramisu latte? I was outa country when that happened and was told it tasted horrible so they didn’t bring it back
NotyourangeLbabe1 points1y ago
I believe Starbucks had a tiramisu latte at one point if I’m remembering correctly
b99__throwaway140 points1y ago
listen. get your booty down to a food service store. buy their syrups. put it in your drink when you get home
snarky_fireball2152 points1y ago
You have raspberry?! I miss raspberry. I also miss the peach and mango syrups we had.
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]23 points1y ago
we have raspberry, hazelnut, and toffeenut but we’re always out of honey blend and chestnut praline 😩 mango syrup sounds incredible on my… imagine that mixed with lemonade!
ayakowantsmemes14 points1y ago
I haven't seen a bottle of raspberry, hazelnut, or toffee nut in months 😨
snarky_fireball218 points1y ago
Yo what?! I have been ordering raspberry, hazelnut, and toffeenut forever and I never get it. Chestnut and honey blend I get no problem.
The mango was so good in the black tea lemonade. My all time favorite.
clumsycalico-14 points1y ago
Honey blend has been permanently discontinued. But we can’t even get honey packets either lol
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]9 points1y ago
honey packets are lacking for us too so we use agave but we have very little agave 😭 I’ll start telling customers that honey blend is discontinued along with everything else in our menu at this point
JeanLucPicardsAss3 points1y ago
Agave? Where??
Jadenvicious17 points1y ago
Why is this so downvoted?
VenusInFirs21 points1y ago
Bc HB hasn’t been discontinued?
idkksue1 points1y ago
just for clarification, most honey blend drinks are being discontinued (honey oatmilk latte, honey almond milk cold brew, honey almond milk flat white, etc..), but honey blend is staying as a syrup as a core component that we can use to add to or modify drinks. like when they took away skinny vanilla latte and skinny caramel macchiato buttons, but we still have the ability to make those. they’re trying to “simplify” things for us. hope this helps!
darkwolf5232 points1y ago
Yo you have peach and mango still? You’re a licensed store?
snarky_fireball213 points1y ago
I do work at a license store but we don't have peach, mango, or raspberry. I was just commenting on how I miss them is all.
darkwolf5233 points1y ago
Fuck I can’t read. Lmao
snarky_fireball212 points1y ago
Me too! It's great. Lol
xoMisaa46 points1y ago
omg i’ve had a lavender latte once at a local shop east of me and it was immaculate. starbucks might ruin the flavor and make it way too sweet to be lavender if i’m gonna be honest here :/ but blueberry also sounds delish! the blueberry crisp latte at dunkin is really good so i hope maybe someday sbux brings it to their stores?
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]11 points1y ago
i know for sure if sbux had lavender they’d just sweeten it to their customer base tastes! gotta try the Dunkin’s blueberry drink though, their blueberry matcha with coconut milk is sooo good! hopefully some day sbux will bring it in
sunflowercupcakee28 points1y ago
Starbucks honestly could bring back so many flavors that people would go nuts for like almond, Valencia, vanilla spice, dulce de leche, gingerbread, tiramisu, Juicy raspberry, black berry, melon, or the vanilla sauce that tasted like cake batter
olivinemultichrome12 points1y ago
You just reminded me that the vanilla drizzle on the vanilla macchiato was a thing and now I’m sad
Bieb10 points1y ago
Omg remember it was a triple macchiato line up? Caramel, hazelnut, and vanilla drizzles.
olivinemultichrome4 points1y ago
I loved the hazelnut macchiato with hazelnut and vanilla drizzle, it was incredible and probably the only way I’ve ever enjoyed hazelnut syrup and not thought it tasted like sweaty socks smell.
twistedstarfall2 points1y ago
Not a macchiato but the Italian Roast drizzle that we had for the Cafe Espresso frappuccinos was amazing.
We drizzled some on lemon pound cake and it was life.
quickthinxallthots1 points1y ago
not the vanilla macchiatto!! to this day im sad they got rid of that. i ordered it every single day after it was released! i was so stupid addicted! after they got rid of it i stopped going as much. i understand why i suppose now that i work there, but id love more drizzle flavors.
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]4 points1y ago
I wish a vanilla machiatto existed!! why would they take away a drink that sounds so good? dulce de lèche and vanilla spice sound so good too. what’s Valencia?
hippythehippo5 points1y ago
Valencia was a Valencia orange refresher that got discontinued to make way for strawberry açaí. It was amazing. It tasted like orange tang but better.
IcyColdBrew3 points1y ago
I'll stick with regular raspberry syrup. Juicy raspberry was disgusting! The others you listed all need to return! And regular Blackberry syrup, not the mojito garbage. Don't want mint in the blackberry syrup. No no no!
jazzysoranio19 points1y ago
We have classic, brown sugar, liquid cane sugar, and honey syrup. Like why tf do we have four different kinds of sugar flavored syrups but no blueberry or even almond?
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]6 points1y ago
exactly. imagine almond with a honey blend or even with mocha/white mocha. they’re missing out fr
jazzysoranio6 points1y ago
I had a coconut almond latte once at a coffee shop and it was heavenly
JJ_Pause1 points1y ago
Our store has almond in the UK
sunflowercupcakee15 points1y ago
I would do a lot of things to get the blueberry juice back
olivinemultichrome12 points1y ago
I miss blueberry white tea lemonade
jams10154 points1y ago
A lot of the flavors being mentioned are flavors we've actually had and discontinued. I wish they'd resurrect them!
alexisss124 points1y ago
i'd give up my first born
zzid2d2115 points1y ago
Lemon or Limoncello, Blackberry, Dark Cherry, Toasted Almond
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]9 points1y ago
ur mind… especially that toasted almond ooooffff
MushroomTwink12 points1y ago
We had Blossoming Rose up to about two years ago and I remember the honey lavender syrup fondly. I think the demographic for Starbucks is less interested in adventurous flavours so they keep coming out with new variations on dessert flavours that are ultimately just a new weird variation on sugar. The funnel cake syrup comes to mind and now the sugar cookie, they're not risky flavours.
Problem is that Starbucks has reached a point where they aren't taking the risks they used to. They aren't interesting in appealing to niche "coffee shop" markets any more. It'd be like McDonald's releasing a lamb and feta burger. Sure, a bunch of people would love that and go for it, but most people just go there for their Big Mac or seasonal favourite, so ultimately the company wastes a bunch of money and energy sending the ingredients out.
I guess what I'm getting at is that Starbucks is only interested in drawing more profit and sucking new customers in. The outliers who liked Blossoming Rose or Juniper don't bring in the money like the crowds who only come in for the Pumpkin Spice and the Caramel Brulee.
mspattydotnet10 points1y ago
I buy syrups from monin and Torani because I have an espresso machine at home but I also bring them to work and put them in my drinks. ESPECIALLY when the syrup shortage was in its peak and basically all we had was vanilla.
zzid2d215 points1y ago
I like Torani because they have the smaller bottles, 175mls, I think? At least if you get something you’re not totally in love with you’re not stuck with a huge bottle!
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]3 points1y ago
between Monin and torani is there one you recommended more?
mspattydotnet4 points1y ago
Honestly, no. I’ve found that the prices are pretty similar on their website and each brand has flavors the other doesn’t that I’ve wanted to try.
sir_ramen9 points1y ago
vodka
maemac9 points1y ago
Honestly any fruit syrup would be nice. I’d die to have cherry syrup back!!
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]4 points1y ago
if they can do a cherry syrup that doesn’t taste like medicine then absolutely
CS38833 points1y ago
The cherry syrup was fucking amazing in strawberry lemonade. Yes it was very sweet but I can't help how sugary Starbucks makes their refresher and lemonade lol
yarncloudsandcoffee9 points1y ago
I’m a lurker customer because I appreciate all of y’all so much.
I want y’all to have blackberry, dulce de leche, cookie butter, and lavender.
Ok. I’m going back into the shadows to support y’all, encourage y’all, and be the most ideal customer I can possibly be
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]4 points1y ago
thank you 😭 i wish we had more customers like you, you’re awesome
nicolelynnejones8 points1y ago
starbucks would make a killing introducing lavender
dahmerpalms4 points1y ago
It seems like no one in this thread remembers honeycomb lavender latte. Did I have a fever dream? Lol. No one really liked it unfortunately
nicolelynnejones3 points1y ago
i’m in the US so we didn’t get that down here. but with lavender lattes trending on tiktok for the past year, i’m surprised starbucks hasn’t caught on. (provided they’d need to make it taste good)
dahmerpalms2 points1y ago
Ohh maybe it was only a Canadian thing! It was about 2 years ago. And we had honey bottles to drizzle on top. Maybe it would be popular now based on what you’re saying about the trend!
MiyaDoesThings7 points1y ago
I moved from Starbucks to a locally owned cafe and we have a honey lavender latte and a rose white chocolate mocha and I am HOOKED lemme tell you
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]5 points1y ago
that sounds impeccable oh my god
survivorsarah7 points1y ago
Raspberry is so good in the matcha lemonade tho 😭 Too bad my sbux has been out of it for some time now 😭
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]7 points1y ago
as right as you are, i want every store to have blueberry cause I’m selfish and drive around too much to stay at my own store 🤣
oogaboogalemonscooga3 points1y ago
Leave it in your car!
kimememememe6 points1y ago
Working at Starbucks gave me a newfound appreciation (and more uses) for my favorite local small batch artisan syrups I’ve been using in my cocktails and iced teas
That being said, lavender for SURE would be a hit if done well
maemac6 points1y ago
Also an almond syrup please
Sunny_Cella6 points1y ago
I used to work at a craft coffee shop before Starbucks and we had soooo many monin sryrups. We had a rose syrup that was actually really good and had a special drink with lavender monin, honey and oat milk. I miss all of the syrups I had for creating beverages at my old cafe but I think it’d be a hot mess if we had anymore of the syrups we already have at starbies.
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]6 points1y ago
I agree but that does sound so delightful… is there any drink you’d recommend (using syrup from monin)? I think lavender oat milk would be awesome
Sunny_Cella1 points1y ago
Lavender oat milk was a huge popular, plus honey too! We had this rose latte, with edible rose petals on top of the latte and that was very very good. We also had a coconut syrup and that tasted so good In an iced matcha!
dizzy365izzy5 points1y ago
Omg if you ever get the chance to, try a latte with pistachio syrup and honey. It’s one of my fav funky syrup combos and it’s heavenly
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]3 points1y ago
they just brought back pistachio I heard so i will def make an effort to try it!
snowflakenecklace5 points1y ago
WHERE is my peanut butter syrup...
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]4 points1y ago
peanut butter and mocha? 👀
snowflakenecklace2 points1y ago
YEA the shop i work out now has a pb syrup so i make pb cup mochas and they SLAP
vandilor2 points1y ago
i think that would be a problem for allergies. it would be a hassle. i can imagine everybody getting like chocolate pb frapps and then like killing someone with a peanut allergy
vandilor1 points1y ago
i think that would be a problem for allergies. it would be a hassle
sapphic-slut1 points1y ago
We had that almond butter protein shake thing a few years ago so I don't think that'd be a problem
vandilor3 points1y ago
almond is a less common allergy though. thats why we have almond milk.
harurride1 points1y ago
Yeahh almond is a less common allergy. I’m severely allergic to peanuts, but not hazelnut or almonds.
CynicalCharmer4 points1y ago
I make Lavender cold brew at home all the time and it's just the best. Not only that, but a cold brew with a twist of lemon over top, hot damn...
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
sounds like I’m buying me some lavender syrup 😩
mlimas3 points1y ago
In Japan they have chocolate marron
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
that sounds delicious
welcome2mybog3 points1y ago
i’ve been thinking lavender! i would also like rosemary, hibiscus, clove, orange, and ginger. i’ve seen some of these at craft coffee places before, lavender especially is a favorite of mine. a lavender white mocha would be soooo yummy, and i don’t even normally like sweet beverages
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]3 points1y ago
lavender white mocha would be incredible! i def agree with the other syrups u mentioned!
welcome2mybog2 points1y ago
they should let us submit ideas and pick one every month as like a limited time thing and if they’re popular keep them!!
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]3 points1y ago
i honestly wish they would especially with the weekly pulse stuff they could just have a section of food items or syrups to bring around or cancel forever… ugh so many ideas could be put into good use!
DaybreakNightfall3 points1y ago
Rose water
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]4 points1y ago
oh this would be so refreshing for summer drinks
RubBusy1883 points1y ago
Y’all still have raspberry???
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
yes surprisingly it’s always stocked? but chestnut praline never is and neither is our honey blend
RubBusy1883 points1y ago
Oh man… we haven’t had raspberry syrup for almost half a year now. Honey blend we get here in there. Toffee nut and cinnamon dolce we haven’t gotten for almost a year either. And we’re also already out of chestnut praline and sugar cookie syrup… 🤦🏽♂️
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
our toffee nut, hazelnut and raspberry stay stocked for some reason but we haven’t seen honey blend in over a year (we’ve been using honey packets in medicine balls lol) and we also haven’t had cinnamon dolce but for some reason the topping stays stocked. our sugar cookie is mostly there but in low quantities so we have to constantly bother from other stores
RubBusy1886 points1y ago
I’m so tired of using honey packets for citrus mint teas 😭
oneofthecoolkids2 points1y ago
Lavender Chai at Nordstrom Cafe 🥰 if SB had lavender chai I'd get it there
VrginMobile2 points1y ago
Pineapple ginger
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]1 points1y ago
that sounds so refreshing ugh
mama_bibi2 points1y ago
Amaretto. Absolute staple when it comes to coffee. It's my favorite creamer.
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
ive never heard of it! what does it taste like?
IcyColdBrew2 points1y ago
It's a sweet almond liqueur kind of flavor
cory_putnam2 points1y ago
I keep saying we need a peanut butter sauce. 💯
SyerenGM2 points1y ago
Im addicted to brown sugar. I dont know how I'd feel about lavender or blueberry! I do think they could try some more flavors to see though.
katia_08282 points1y ago
And they just bring back pistachio🤮
FreeeeezeYourBraain2 points1y ago
...watch your mouth
StillEmotional2 points1y ago
Hey, you leave Raspberry out of this. What has Raspberry done to you? (I miss Raspberry. I havent had it since last year)
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]1 points1y ago
we have raspberry all the time but the smell is so… strong i hate pumping it 😩
Arevrec2 points1y ago
I’d rather not have more drinks to make
NotyourangeLbabe1 points1y ago
I miss the juniper latte!🥺
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]1 points1y ago
this must’ve been before my time- how did it taste?
mrhammerant1 points1y ago
Lychee, but Bux would find a way to ruin it
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]1 points1y ago
for sure! even though it sounds like the most refreshing thing ever
RuthlessMinion1 points1y ago
we ran out of raspberry and i’m so sad it’s so good in a passion tea lemonade :(
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
hopefully y’all get some soon 😩 we always have raspberry but i really don’t like it tbh
RuthlessMinion2 points1y ago
ty 🙏 i hope so too 😭 also i think cookie butter would make a great sauce. did you guys get the pistachio sauce? i’m wondering what drink it’s for
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]1 points1y ago
no, not yet! ive seen that some stores have gotten it but we haven’t gotten pistachio yet! i imagine it would be so good with honey blend (which we haven’t gotten in a year)
RuthlessMinion2 points1y ago
oof we have honey blend and i use all the time for hcmt’s bc i’m too lazy to use the honey packets 😭. im thinking pistachio foam on a matcha latte would be good
sh3nan1gans_1 points1y ago
I honestly don’t like the brown sugar it just tastes so bad! But a lavender flavor would be good! Would put it in iced teas and white mocha lattes!
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
okay im glad someone agrees! brown sugar isn’t for me at honestly lol. but lavender for the win 😩
sh3nan1gans_2 points1y ago
It’s really bitter to me. I wish they’d get rid of it already and give us something worth while
kittzelmimi1 points1y ago
Like 90% of the flavors we have right now are just a varient of vanilla, caramel, or nutty. Sugar cookie? Vanilla+. Chestnut praline? Candied nuts. Toffeenut? Nutty caramel. Toasted WM? White caramel. CARAMEL BRULE? CARAMELIZED CARAMEL.
I guess the idea is that they're all in the same, like, pallet, so you can't make anything TOO gross out of combining them? And no flavor is really a surprise? Starbucks is all about being a safe bet.
The juniper syrup a couple years ago was refreshing.
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]1 points1y ago
i honestly think we could do without the brûlée and the toasted white mocha and bring new and inventive flavors… taking the safe bet is so darn boring. how did juniper taste like?
kittzelmimi2 points1y ago
Botanical. (Kinda like gin tbh lol.)
[deleted]1 points1y ago
idk how it would taste in coffee, but i’d love a cheesecake syrup. could always get a pumpkin cheesecake steamer in the fall, yk? sounds bomb af
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
I think if we had cheesecake, it would be a sauce like the white mocha one. but imagine a pumpkin cheesecake latte with whip on top and pumpkin spice topping…. Oooooffffff
[deleted]2 points1y ago
or maybe with the chestnut praline topping, mmmm or u could mimic an oreo cheesecake by adding mocha and whip… dayum i need to stop making myself so hungry
[deleted]2 points1y ago
sounds heavenly omfg ok sbux, hop to
clumsysilencee1 points1y ago
I love lavender lattes and god I wish we had that syrup 😩 although I’m kinda worried about what they’d do with it flavor-wise. I really like one from my local shop (they make it in-house) and Torani’s, but the Monin one is way too sweet for me! Starbucks loves sugar so I feel like they’d go that route and kill all the lavender flavor :(
Also- don’t rag on my babe brown sugar syrup 😤 she’s a renaissance woman and we love her at my store
accountedthrowaway5 [OP]2 points1y ago
i may try Torin’s because I love a good string lavender taste, and I’d love to try a lavender oat milk latte at some point! im not a fan of over sugary drinks so I’ll keep what u said in mind.
also- im sorry but the brown sugar syrup is so……🥴 not that great to me I just can’t
clumsysilencee2 points1y ago
Torani’s is def the move then unless you get lucky and find a local shop like I did!! :) Lavender oatmilk lattes are what I get and omg they are So. Good!! 14/10 recommend :)
about the brown sugar syrup- 😭 she is beauty she is grace but I guess she’s not liked by everyone in this place lol! no hard feelings ofc <3
