we need more sugar free syrup options(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by coolsexysmartvirgo
i feel so bad whenever we have to tell people all we offer is sf vanilla
pranasoup81 points1y ago
we had like 6 when i started in 2016, rip.
coolsexysmartvirgo [OP]21 points1y ago
why would they even get rid of them
TwoDallas46 points1y ago
I'm thinking that they are not selling well.
pranasoup17 points1y ago
they really were in some markets! it’s odd to me that they will keep some product in some markets and not in others but didn’t do that with SF flavors. especially skinny mocha for the holidays. my stores had always gone through so much SFH and SFCD. it kind of felt like when they discontinued slow roasted ham and swiss or BHR- didn’t really make sense.
mama_bibi7 points1y ago
I genuinely think they base it off of like the original store or the store that makes the most sales. BHR was very popular at my store. Along with SFCD. To discontinue bhr and not ksr is ludicrous. There is absolutely no way that over all people like kiwi better than berry. I dont think their numbers are an actual statistic based off of all of the stores. Statistics are all about the population...so if they are only using specific stores than the statistic is highly bias and they are stupid.

As a t1d, they taste so bad and so few people get them that it’s not worth it imo. Maybe SF vanilla and one other flavor tho. I think part of it is that it’s difficult to make sf sweeteners that don’t include carcinogens. The SFCD smelled so bad I don’t want that back noah fence Edit: diabetics can also eat/drink as much sugar as we please, it just ups the insulin dosage.
raychelelaina14 points1y ago
Sugar free caramel for the one other! That seems so obvious, it’s like the second most popular
salaciainthedepths6 points1y ago
We still have SFC and SFH in the UK but they taste awful, super chemical and nasty aftertaste. They aren’t popular here
coolsexysmartvirgo [OP]32 points1y ago
having only one basic ass flavor option for diabetics isn’t very ‘😊safe and inclusive space for all😊’ of us
clumsycalico20 points1y ago
Not even just for diabetics though! I want them for myself so I don’t consume a day’s worth of calories in syrup every work week 😭
coolsexysmartvirgo [OP]9 points1y ago
no fr bc I feel like I’m ruining my teeth drinking sugary drinks all day
clumsycalico7 points1y ago
Right!! I started a thing at my store because all the teenage new hires were like “ooooh that’s why I started gaining weight when I got this job huh” so now they all get my sfv almond milk latte 💅🏻
vandilor7 points1y ago
i’m getting all these free drinks and it’s not doing anything. i’ve actually lost weight since i started. granted i’m not getting anything too crazy but still.
welcome2mybog3 points1y ago
lol yeah i was thinking of quitting caffeine and then i started and that’s out of the question now lmao. within like 3 weeks i was drinking 12 shots a day so now i make everything half caf… i haven’t gained weight but i have worse acne than i ever did as a teenager! i think between being around sugar fumes, drinking more caffeine, and wearing a mask all day my face is just in hell
LZARDKING1 points1y ago
A lot of diabetics still enjoy our syrups, our sf syrups didn’t sell very well at all it’s not a slight
[deleted]17 points1y ago
They tasted like chemicals to me
MrDrProfessorBalls10 points1y ago
same here. i cant even do splendas and stuff like that, dieting is just cold turkey for me and it sucks
[deleted]2 points1y ago
I am so supposed to dentallly not have sugar this is why I rather just reach for small amounts or none of sugar. It's gross.
omogal12314 points1y ago
Lol I had a customer told us were lame bc we only have one when WE ARE STARBUCKS and I fucking agree
nicolelynnejones10 points1y ago
i may be the only person on earth but i want a SF raspberry. i love raspberry iced coffees.
[deleted]8 points1y ago
Sugar free vanilla is disgusting
SewOnAndSewForth5 points1y ago
We just need to bring back flavour reinvention. Had tons of sugar free options and might help with some of the pandemic distribution problems.
Plus it made it easier to get super yummy drinks with several flavours without tons of sugar.
lewabwee4 points1y ago
They really did not sell when we had them and they take up space, which gives stores less room for sugar included options that might well better.
I say might because, just for example, I can’t remember the last time anyone bought any apple bullshit but other than that I think everything we have right now sells better than the sugar free options did.
I mean it’s not inclusive but Starbucks doesn’t care about that unless inclusive means money.
SunflowerTeaTime2 points1y ago
This.
I worked in a test market and we had “flavor reinvention” for a long time. I was always super excited to let customers know I could do literally every one of our core line up sugar free. We were always told it was supposed to roll out nation wide and it was suddenly discontinued.
marilynmansonsbitch2 points1y ago
does anyone remember flavor reinvention??? when we pumped the classic and then the actual flavor???? shit was wack for what seemed like a week but at least every flavor had the option to be sugar free. AND we had more flavors.
starbucks honestly sucks now and i hate working here.
digitalsushi02 points1y ago
I'm still working through a bottle of SFCD and I just don't want to see it go 👎🏾 its probably very expired by this point.
And to keep the calories down I almost always get a blonde ristretto doppio espresso with sfv and oatmilk and if I want something sweet, I'll add another pump of chestnut praline
boopsbittie2 points1y ago
What even was all the flavors?
[deleted]10 points1y ago
hazelnut, peppermint, caramel, cinnamon dolce & vanilla when i started in 2016
jams10158 points1y ago
and skinny mocha
nicolelynnejones3 points1y ago
i remember the skinny hazelnut 😞 RIP
unforg1veable1 points1y ago
I remember SF peppermint mochas rip
desairologist1 points1y ago
We had so many but they all failed. When I started we had SF Vanilla, Caramel, Hazelnut, Cinnamon Dolce, Peppermint, AND Mocha. We threw almost all of them away due to expiration and not actually using them. Also making skinny mocha every day was a nightmare
mmmmercutio1 points1y ago
I agree
LZARDKING1 points1y ago
The other flavors never sold, ever. I used to go whole weeks without selling a single sugar free mocha. Too bad so sad.
