and caramel brûlée and short cups and warming paper and (almost) tall cups and oatmilk and almond milk and matcha and banana loaves and pumpkin loaves and half of our paninis and birthday cake pops nitro lids and no we still don’t have toffee nut, cinnamon dolce, honey blend, or raspberry.” we haven’t gotten our order in 4 days. other stores in our district are facing the same plight. wish us luck. also whoever decided automatic ordering was a good idea can go jump in a lake. that is all.
ETA: we ran out of 2% & whole milk too & had to go to the store for that :))
edited a second time for all the stuff we’ve run out of since i made this post: almond milk again, white warming bags (sandwich size not panini), caramel brûlée topping, carmel crunch topping, chocolate curls, jade citrus mint, honey, agave, god i hope there aren’t any more but i close tonight so we’ll see
also have been out of for a while: sleeves, stoppers, receipt paper (that’s a real treat w all the gift cards 🙃)

That last line though 🤣
For real though, WHAT IS THE POINT!? It’s not like those orders didn’t take that long to place, why would they think a computer can accurately order for us?

to reduce the amount of work we need to do and make us more easily replaceable
dontgiveah00t24 points1y ago
When are the bots coming who talk to customers who are upset about the lack of cups and pastries and syrups 😂
I complain about automated ordering in every single weekly partner survey. My store used to grow weekly on food sales and now we plummet, can’t even emergency pull croissants because they haven’t been delivered in three days
blandrogyny7 points1y ago
we stopped doing emergency pulls bc we found out that it doesn't communicate with the system inventory. we still don't get what we should but it's been better than having literally nothing lol
boopsbittie1 points1y ago
Wait really??? How did you find out
thefoolwitch18 points1y ago
What do you do without warming paper??? We’re out of a bunch of shit too but oh god. That one is scary.

my store ran out of warming paper for a while last week. spent every free second of my shift cutting up sandwich and pastry bags to use instead.
victorious_gem14 points1y ago
that's happened in my store before. we just bought parchment paper from the supermarket && then we had to cut them into strips 😅
b99__throwaway [OP]11 points1y ago
last time it happened we used the white bags (wouldn’t recommend. sometimes they combust). this time we bought parchment paper and cut it up to size

Don’t get me wrong, automated ordering works really well if done properly.
What irritates me is that they didn’t give us the ability to edit it…why in the fuck would you not implement a fail safe like that? My stores iPod is fucked up so sure our counts can be done manually but we can’t input our pulls and that affects auto ordering.
Whomever decided that is a dumbass.

Last time I was at work we were out of tall and venti hot cups and all breakfast sandwiches and bake goods

Automatic ordering I'm sorry what?? UK SSV here but what the hell is that?
uh-no-why8 points1y ago
Instead of the SSV’s doing the food and coffee order now, they have the computer do it based on how much we sell. The issue is that it takes a while for it to recognize how quickly or slowly we go through certain products, so it’s incredibly inaccurate and we keep running out of certain products.
kenb1019 points1y ago
But what if you expect a higher number of sales based on something? Like if there's an event in your area and u expect to sell more of a certain thing that day? Can you override it at all? This seems whack
blandrogyny7 points1y ago
nope! also cannot take into account supply chain shortages so since haven't been able to get certain pastries in to have a decent history we just. don't get a lot of them
