I thought I escaped cold foam… (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by hoewenn
So I worked at Starbucks over the summer until I moved. The stress caused me to not reapply but I did get a job at another local coffee shop chain. Way more laid back and, lucky for me, no cold foam. I’ve been here about three months and I’m working on Friday and my coworker notices a smaller blender, clearly new and very clean. I told her “oh that’s what we used at Starbucks to make cold foam” and she said that she doubted we’d start doing it because it’s become kind of a Starbucks thing. I agreed and thought that was the end of it.

I was wrong. That night, the manager of another store texts the groupchat for that store (they let us take shifts at other locations for extra $$$) a text with a link on how to make cold foam in the new blender. Pain. Suffering and pain. Worst part is that my store doesn’t even know, our manager still hasn’t told us. Only the people who also take shifts at the other store, so I have no one to suffer with.

I swear I’ll quit sometime and start working in retail and they’ll somehow find a way to introduce cold foam at fuckin Gap or something

Eh it’s not really a Starbucks thing. Cold foam was eveywhere when I went to Greece 5 years ago, we’ve finally caught on in the US

I don’t really mind it on it’s own, it’s just hassle to be making a drink and have to get out the blender, stuff for the cold foam, etc. It’s just extra work, *especially* in a rush
