Life without the Siren (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by LKP95
It's been about 2 months since I left Starbucks after 7 years. I worked at approximately 15 stores, in 2 different countries, in different eras of my life. I defended this company, praised this company, cussed out this company, and went through many things with this company. I saw things go downhill when they started prioritizing special Frappuccinos over actual coffee. I saw when they stopped selling K-eurig and Verismo. I saw when they ruined the cappuccino. I saw when they took away our labor and gave us a meditation app to make up for it. I saw when they refused to make the menu smaller during 2020 even though they ran out of different products for the next 2 years. BUT THE LAST STRAW FOR ME.... was when they gave me 2 pay raises this year in 2021.... and I still made less than $14. Keep in mind that Walmart, Costco, Walgreens, CVS, Chipotle, Target all pay $15 and up in Arizona. It was a spit to the face and I had enough. I hope that this company changes and I hope that all you partners experience only positive change in the future. My life without the Siren is already 10x less stressful than ever. I have become more positive and optimistic, and definitely more myself. Thank you for listening. ****456 out.
