Society wasn’t where it is now in terms of LGBTQ+ when I wore an apron twenty years and even then back then every store I knew of had at least one gay partner on staff.

Back then if you were gay the bux was really one of the better options for employment, and the siren is terrible in a lot of ways but I saw managers stand up for gay/lesbian partners whenever they were abused by customers or coworkers for their orientation.

Starbucks in the US (from what I heard, I live in the UK) covers hormone therapy and some trans surgeries, so it makes sense

There are times at my store when everyone on the clock at a given time is trans, truly a nightmare for conservative customers lmao

I don’t know why but yeah there’s a lot of lgbt people. I think they just might be less bias with the way people look and dress. There’s people with tattoos they don’t have to cover up, any hairstyle or hair color is allowed as long as it’s above collar or put up. They just don’t really care about expression that much

It's not like there is a quota. I know a couple stores that don't have any. My store has one person that I know of.

Yes. Nearly most of night shift is bi, gay or trans. Also we have a non-binary pansexual shift, I myself am a bisexual woman.

My store is like 75% gay. A decent amount of partners identify as gay or bisexual. We have a handful of nonbinary and gender fluid individuals as well. And 2 openly trans partners as well. :)

At my bucks nearly half the floor is lgbt it seems. I’m a closer usually, and often our entire closing crew consists of 95% enbies!

One of my stores was in generic well-off suburbs and my impression was it was about a little higher than average ratio of lgbtq (at least those who were out) which Google puts at a little over 5% (though that sounds low.) So maybe average 1/10. But not particularly high. The city ones I’ve worked at always feel more like 50%+ lol. I think many college shops are the same too. So while I think a lot of areas pull a lot of queer people in working at coffee shops, it isn’t true everywhere. And in a large enough store you will most likely have at least one lgbtq worker, yeah.

Everyone thinks I'm just some average joe. I'm stealth largely due to having a rough experience in a past job. It wasnt until I met someone that isn't on T yet where I shared a brief mention that I am.

Lol. Probably. Is this a serious question? It does make me wonder if Starbucks has hiring quotas. At my store, our staff is only six people, and I'm not aware of any queer person on it, but I'm not aware of the sexual orientation of my coworkers and don't feel it super appropriate to ask. I've also only worked there for a month so that helps explain why I'm not aware of their sexual orientations yet.

There's at least 8 people at my store that are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. (Queer, trans, non-binary, lesbian, gay etc) That's more than half our crew 🏳️‍🌈

At my tiny store, about half of us are LGBTQ+, but every single one of us is neurodivergent (adhd and autism) lmao

Most of my old store was lesbian, a couple gay guys, some bi girls, one nonbinary peep, and one genderfluid (me!) had a few token straight people. Could tell when the lesbeans were on shift though, because any male working with them kinda gave a wide berth 😬

Been traveling the US for the past few weeks. Wife is an ex Starbucks employee so she’s been wanting to get all the state cups but we don’t have much room in our luggage to carry so we’ve just been getting the drinks that her country doesn’t make.

We def so more diverse people and a few lgbtq+ folks with the flag masks on.

There hasn't been for almost a year. We had Neal, who was in a relationship with a emo dude, and Christian who was FTM. Neal quit to work as an assistant of some sort, and Christian was fired because he kept calling off. Now all of us are straight, at least that I know of.

Not a Starbucks worker, just browse cuz lots of my friends are. Most workplaces have a gay dude, my store prolly thinks they don’t have anyone that’s lgbt but I’m not open about it 🤘
