Just let us sell hot drinks without lids for cafe and mobile orders. We're allowed to serve hot drinks in mugs. Plus, we're not putting sleeves on cups, so customers basically have to burn their hands before realizing they need a sleeve.
History lesson on the McDonalds coffee lawsuit: McDonalds' coffee was (and still is) being served at 180-190 degrees. That is 5 degrees less than the internal temperature of a car radiator. At Starbucks, the extra hot setting of the steamer of an espresso machine is 180 degrees. None of our drinks are extra hot in their recipe anymore. (As for what temperature the water in our hot taps is, I don't know.)
