Had a 9 drink, 11 food item order placed in drive. She was a partner and did not tip. She even asked what was taking so long. I'm a trainer and I would be embarrassed if one of my green beans pull that. And yes,she was a 320
Few simple etiquette rules:
1. Tip, even just the coins. It's only polite.
2. Go to your own store for a big order, or if not at least don't do it in the DT.
3. Be nice! We have to deal with so much shit, and you know this, why make it worse?

Rule three should put the ornery customer in negative stars territory but we know it can't happen that way.

Had a girl and her mum come up to the window today; they both starting asking about tea - I said “sure! hot or iced tea?” and both of them were like “uhhhh” … Took me about 5 MINUTES to get a decision from them after offering all of our teas (hot and iced) and finally as I’m ringing them out the girl goes “also I have partner numbers” she began with 321 and I couldn’t help but laugh to myself

I agree with what u say. I think tipping is optional but if she had a big order then yeah she better tip. If she’s a partner she should have never gone to another Starbucks with a big order and act like a jackass or even her own store. I would’ve been you order 20 items u want me to pull it outta my magic Starbucks cap, huh? This ain’t McDonald’s and even McDonald’s ain’t that fast. If u in a hurry then u shouldn’t have ordered in the first place.

As a 321, I’m scared to even order a single complex drink immediately after my shift and just get a stock latte or a refresher and peach juice. I cannot fucking imagine having the oblivious nerve to do this
squishezzz2 points1y ago
Literally same I'd feel bad ordering a drink with cold foam let alone going through the drive through with a huge order 💀
Its_Breezie5 points1y ago
Every time I hear these 320 stories I get more and more upset that I share those same numbers, I started back in June and get lumped with the worst of the worst :’)
Solid_Wish [OP]6 points1y ago
And that sucks! Some of the best ppl I work with are 320. I'm sorry that my story made you feel bad but if you don't do those things, then it's not about you. Just keep doing you. I'm sure you're a great 320.
NervosaNervous3 points1y ago
I think we need a five item limit in drive. Ordering any more than that? You need to come inside.
uwumoment2 points1y ago
this makes me so mad, when partners pull up and treat me like shit and expect me to break rules for them. this one girl pulled up once and said she was a partner and was shocked when she still had to pay and was super rude about it. yes i’ll give you your bean markout but i don’t know who you are. you’re getting your discount.
izxbellix2 points1y ago
just curious: what does the 320 mean?
squishezzz2 points1y ago
It refers to partner numbers

1. I don't agree. She works at the same company you do. She makes the same shit wage you do. Do you tip your coworkers when they make your free drink for you? That being said, if I ordered a twenty-item order, I'd probably think about tipping. 3. This green bean obviously doesn't know it yet. Don't worry, she'll learn it soon.
celeste56749 points1y ago
green bean aside, anyone who has empathy ESPECIALLY someone who works at a sbux would know that a 20 item order is a lot for a store. the least you could do is give a good tip especially since they know how shitty our wages are
philosopher_cat_lady1 points1y ago
She feels entitled to the service since she works for the company

On tipping as a partner. Someone I worked with years ago said this and I agree. If you're at your own store, you don't need to. You're just handing money around in a circle and that's pointless. If you're at another store, definitely tip. Also, just in general, don't be a dick. It's shocking how many partners display behaviors that would piss them off if customers did it to them.
Solid_Wish [OP]14 points1y ago
I do tip when i go to different stores actually. That's why i said even if it's just some coins. It's the gesture.
RyanWasTakken11 points1y ago
Drinks are only free when you work that day on the clock
kqs134 points1y ago
Yes if I go to any store that is not my own, I do tip every time.
drowninginristretto3 points1y ago
I tip something every time I go to Starbucks and I’m not on shift. It doesn’t have to be a lot, but the lose change that I have is better than nothing. Anyone who orders more than 10 items should think to themselves and make the decision to tip.
OakTreeTrash1 points1y ago
I have been working at SB for less than 6 months. If I was ordering a 20 item order I would tip. Because that’s a lot of shit. And I know that it takes forever.
the1noir-3 points1y ago
I agree with you, I ain’t tipping just cause I PURCHASED a few items. Complaining about why it’s taking a long time is pretty scummy though.
