does my pay change if i move to a state with a lower pay? does anyone know how that works?

Yes. Pay rates can vary between cities and people who transfer to lower-wage areas typically get their pay cut. The nationwide minimum is $12 so you’ll make at least that much no matter what, but it depends on exactly where you end up.
I live in an area where the starting wage is $12 and a partner who transferred from a more expensive city in the same state got a $2 pay cut. Another who transferred from across the country lost more than $3.

Yeah, you’ll go to the base pay for the position. I moved from WA to TX as a shift in February and went from $20.15 an hour to $13.01 an hour
