Please stay home
Zatana07 [OP] -53 points 1y ago
I can’t. Plus my boss already got mad at me and clearly doesn’t care I’m sick
Dsgrcfl 79 points 1y ago
report them to ethics
Zatana07 [OP] -56 points 1y ago
She said I could go home at 2
THREE6Tyler 83 points 1y ago
Irresponsible on both parts. Please take your health and the health of others seriously.

Your baristas are gonna get sick right before Christmas. Not your fault but your SM is shit lol
swollemolle 11 points 1y ago
I thought the company's protocol was for partners to stay home when they're sick? I mean, we work around food which can get contaminated when someone comes in sick. This is definitely a health hazard.

If Covid coach tells you to go home you have to go home
Mkhillvgc 35 points 1y ago
Unless the store manager *happily* decides otherwise
VrginMobile -5 points 1y ago
Unless nobody uses covid coach or covid procedures anymore cuz vax
ProfessionalRock7940 10 points 1y ago
Idk I've still seen SMs recently get fired for not following it...but our DM is super on top of Covid stuff
jordanshaw89 52 points 1y ago
Please listen to the others who have said go home, it is a write up or worse rn if you ignore Covid coach, I there was a manager who got fired for that not very long ago at a store nearby to mine, heard all about it and now we all have been under closer scrutiny regarding sickness policy, you cannot be working while sick anyway due to health codes. Please call ethics!
Zatana07 [OP] 39 points 1y ago
Alright I’ll see what I can do. I’m not coming in tomorrow for sure.
UPDATE: So that did not go well. I’m going home after I do the inventory and pull but my boss yelled at me because she said i asked for sick time in an unprofessional way and I phrased it the way she wanted it said and then she got super mad at me and said I was disrespectful. Like what? And then she said I like to confront my leaders. I don’t I just don’t like when peers use the N word and superiors belittle people with disabilities

That’s good, it’s on your manager to find coverage or come in themselves to help out the store if an ssv cannot continue to work for health reasons, make sure when or if you get a chance to call, that you let them know that you informed your manager of your illness and that you were told to continue work until 2pm. Also if you didn’t (no one’s judging) run through the Covid coach at the store yet, do so before you leave today and take a picture of it telling you to “leave and do not start work”.
jordanshaw89 20 points 1y ago
(800) 611-7792 - that is the ethics and compliance helpline, your update is very concerning regarding the use of racial slurs in the workplace, also the way she handled an illness is not okay at all, no excuse but it sounds like your manager is just mad that now they might have to work. But they sign on for that when they accept a salary position as a manager. It is always the managers responsibility to find coverage or be that coverage if needed
Zatana07 [OP] 13 points 1y ago
I think that’s what it was because I wasn’t the only one who’s been sick. I’m so sick of being bullied into a hole and made to feel like it’s my fault. I can’t afford to quit or even see a doctor unless I drive to Charleston for the VA ER. I still might do that in the morning. I feel awful.
jordanshaw89 5 points 1y ago
That would definitely be a good idea to see a doctor, also make sure to get a note, in case you will need more than 3 days recovery, just to cover yourself fully, sounds like your manager might be the vindictive type and try and pull something on you.

New covid variant had cold like symptoms, why aren’t we as a company doing more Jesus
Internal-Ad-8820 7 points 1y ago
Because unfortunately this company cares more about running business than making sure they follow food safety and partner health protocols, and it's essentially left up to individual people to decide if they want to be honorable and ethical or not
Apprehensive-Meep 14 points 1y ago
What do you do if you don’t pass covid coach and your SM makes you stay as a SSV? Asking for a friend…
ProfessionalRock7940 14 points 1y ago
Call ethics. That's a fireable offense
boxinghamster16 14 points 1y ago
Leave anyways. Can't get in trouble for following COVID policy.
dcho94 3 points 1y ago
Yup. And when you're the only closer and you've been sick 3 times already.. and the store had to close early single handedly because of you.. 🤷🏻😬🤭 but oh well thats what they get for only having 1 closer
coffeeaddict3416 3 points 1y ago
dawg go home now. i was supposed to close tonight but told my manager i have a sore throat and am congested. so i cant work. if youre sick you have to go home
tittywhipp 3 points 1y ago
Call your PRM or your RD. This is not part of the partner experience.
_Azumi_ 2 points 1y ago
Unrelated, but your username made me chuckle
tittywhipp 2 points 1y ago

I'm an evening SSV and my other evening SSV coworker showed up to work sick. I chased him off after an hour, but..... well, now I'm waiting on the results of a covid test.
tittysprnklsz 1 points 1y ago
Myself (ssv) along with 2 other ssv and one barista are out due to illness at my store 🙃 I hope you feel better!!<3
