I like my job and love a lot of my partners I just feel sometimes like the stress is not worth the pay lol but there are moments where I truly enjoy it !!!

I enjoy working at my store! And I have never covered at another store but I can’t imagine working at a different location

i’ve been a partner for a year and a half and i STILL enjoy it! and i agree there’s a lot more negative things said here
Puzzled-Pianist-4227 9 points 1y ago
Yes! I genuinely love this job. There's a lot of negativity on this sub, but I promise there are some of us who enjoy it.
No-Pearl000 9 points 1y ago
if im with the coworkers i get along with well, yes! otherwise it sucks basically being by yourself

I love my store too! It’s definitely became my third (or second idk how it works) place! While I haven’t befriended anyone bc I’m not sure if they want to, I always vibe with them! I always want to find ways to make the store seem prettier or find new techniques to help a barista out (mini trash cans for sugar packets, encouraging others to set up their bar they way most efficient for them, etc) Ik we aren’t paid much but I really love it here

I love it. I used to work at McDoanlds and it was awful. Like the work is equally hard sometimes harder at SB because theirs more things to do. But the people are so much better.

I like my store. My SM is kinda new but she is always at the store and sides with partners when dealing with customers most of the time. She’s had hired some great people and gotten rid of a few problems.
Superduperfreddy 2 points 1y ago
Honestly speaking everyday when I walk into work I’m kinda glad I’m there because I get a chance to talk to other people throughout the day or make someone’s day.
sweatshirtsweatpants 2 points 1y ago
Your question made me laugh bc it’s so true ! But I’m happy for you it’s a positive experience & you’re happy.
hellopie7 2 points 1y ago
I used to, then I worked at a drive thru store.
Cash_tings 2 points 1y ago
Me too! This is my first official job and I love it. It’s fun and my store environment is very positive. We are lucky it seems, because most of our customers are kind and our partners too. I haven’t made any friends but everyone is so nice and we get along well.

It really is a case by case thing. I probably would have stayed if I found a store in my area that I genuinely enjoyed, but all the one's around here are so high volume and terrible staffing (even before the pandemic), I just dreaded every day and knew transferring wouldn't solve anything.
orangeygirly 2 points 1y ago
I totally agree! I covered shifts at other stores in my district and absolutely hated it; even some care only ones. I’m really grateful for the store I ended up at.
muhkiim 2 points 1y ago
I'm so happy for you. I wish I had found a place like that near me.
Grapejellydino 2 points 1y ago
I kinda do I think it's more like I like barista work more than actually liking working at Starbucks
Hot-Froyo 2 points 1y ago
I have two bachelors degrees and still would choose to work here. I love it. I worked an office job before and just couldn’t do it. My job has its bad moments but mostly good moments. That’s why I stay.
eddiespaghettio 2 points 1y ago
I enjoy it. It’s infinitely better than my previous job.
orangeygirly 1 points 1y ago
Me too!!! My previous job only paid me min wage despite being there for 3+ years 😔 There was no opportunity to promote there but I like how there is at starbucks!
the1noir 2 points 1y ago
Idk anyone who actually enjoys working in general unless it’s for themselves.
wunderkyn 2 points 1y ago
I really like my store and my team…it’s the customers that’ll drive you crazy from time to time, but I really enjoy my job. It’s always a learning process, which can be a bit taxing at times, but we keep each other laughing and in high spirits. It’s never a dull moment at my store…unless it’s raining🤷🏾‍♂️
official_koda_ 2 points 1y ago
I haven’t enjoyed the job in general for a while now and I’ve been here two years. The only reason I have stayed is for my coworkers who are my friends. Some of them are hard to tolerate, but the good ones make it worth staying for now. Unfortunately many of my friends have left in the past year.

💯
platonicbae 2 points 1y ago
yes lol i love my store more times
accountedthrowaway5 2 points 1y ago
i enjoy working the job too. the partners are awesome (sm not so much but he’s rarely there so it’s fine) and without them i wouldn’t be able to handle such rude customers lol. we work at a drive through store and communicate through headsets a lot, and other partners and shifts can hear what goes on between us and the customers. if any rude customers come around, everyone’s ready to defend the partner and i think it’s awesome. plus, working bar is pretty fun ngl

One day you may have a goal of making a living. And you will leave. The barista life can be very satisfying but your pockets will remain empty. If you move up in the company and try to earn more money, you will see the dark side.
orangeygirly 1 points 1y ago
Haha I’m still a college student I’m just trying to live in the present my guy
effmyface 1 points 1y ago
I feel the same way!

yeah hahaha especially the tik tok ones 🥴
rachj0418 1 points 1y ago
I enjoyed it, and I miss it. If I could find a busy drive-thru only store, and a boss that will let me work only 2-3 mornings a week, I'd rock it out so hard.
rosallia 1 points 1y ago
Not as much as I used to.
