Why would someone want a frappucino made with heavy whipping cream? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by kitkat828
Honest question, but a guy came in the other day and wanted like 3 frappucinos all made with HWC instead of whole milk.

What is the appeal? I would assume it's more fattening and unhealthy right? So why?

Genuinely trying to understand the motivation behind some of these bizarre requests.

Someone told me the texture makes frappuccino’s taste like ice cream or a milkshake.

partner here who makes strawberries and cream frap with heavy cream on the rare occasion I want a milkshake. Yes it’s just like a milkshake. I only get it when I really want a milkshake and I work so I just make it myself. I could never imagine drinking it everyday or drinking more than a tall of it tho

it's actually really good. not that much milk goes into a frap. it's less disgusting than a venti HC latte

It’s more milkshake like, and I think heavy whipping cream satisfies keto diet stuff

While the fat content of HC is good for Keto, Keto is a very low carb diet so the amount of sugar in the frap would be about a weeks worth of carbs or more for a person on keto. In that case the high fat content doesn’t help at all!

It’s thicker and doesnt melt as quickly

I do it occasionally, it just gives it more of a milkshake texture. Plus it’s only a couple ounces of milk, not a whole 26 ounce iced venti made with heavy cream.

I'm diabetic (and an ex partner!) and found that replacing the usual milk in fraps and lattes with HWC helps my sugar not spike because there isn't nearly as much natural sugar in cream. It's also not actually that unhealthy to consume fats! The drinks come out so much richer and imo, better haha

It’s supposed to be milkshake like….but I question why don’t they just go somewhere to get a better milkshake. Plus it wouldn’t be as expensive.

I love a good strawberry frap, i make them with oatmilk but I love when the whipped cream starts melting into the frap and mixing with it. it’s creamier and yes, more milk-shakey as another redditor said. i imagine it’s similar to that!

Do you think people are worried about "fattening" or "unhealthy" when ordering a frappucino? Lol. Makes it thicker like a milkshake. Definitely makes more sense than a heavy cream latte 🤢

I know a lot of people order HW to cater to keto diets :)

One time one of my shifts made a vanilla bean with heavy cream and put an entire lemon loaf in it and it was sooooo yummy
nickintheback08 2 points 1y ago
It tastes better
sirensthigh 2 points 1y ago
it’s a milkshake.
Mentally-ill-bitch 1 points 1y ago
It tastes better imo
coolsexysmartvirgo 1 points 1y ago
I want the extra calories simple as that

I don’t consume or even like Frappuccinos, I prefer real ice cream so these do look more appealing to me, to be honest

As people said, it’s like a milkshake but I personally don’t drink it. What I do is take it home and stick in the freezer and eat it like ice cream over a period of time. It’s YUMMY. I don’t ever eat much at a time either so it lasts me a while.

Fatty fucks. It tastes amazing.
nicolelynnejones 1 points 1y ago
haven’t tried it but like everyone else said, it’s supposed to be very similar to a milkshake

It’s more keto-friendly. Still, I wouldn’t drink it.
