Returning to Starbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Hazelton2000
I worked for the bux three years ago and lately with the pandemic and lack of human contact I’ve been wanting to return. I have an interview set up for after Christmas.
What are some good interview questions to ask to figure out quality of management and quality of my fellow baristas?

I would ask about the tenure of the partners there and how many supervisors there are.

The worst stores in my district right now are staffed by partners who have only been with the company 6 months or less and they only have 2-3 supervisors.

You could also ask “what’s an area of opportunity for this store?”

If there are partners at that store that have been there for more than 1 year and they have at least 5 supervisors I would say it’s at least decent.

Ask about the manager too. If your manager is an outside hire, I’d run in the opposite direction. Ask your manager about their experience too, many managers get moved around a lot so even if the manager is new to the store they might be a very good manager

I’ll demand background checks and resumes of everyone😂

I’m a recent rehire and I only applied to locations where I’ve enjoyed being a customer. During the interview, I asked about typical floor coverage, and like the other commenter suggested, asked about how long partners have stayed at the store.

A big reason why I left the first time around was a mornings v. nights situation, so I asked a lot of questions about that, too.

Decide what your most important issues are and ask about them.
