been here since 10am, down 2 people, sm comes in to bring us pizza but can’t even eat it because no people, no half and we close in 6 minutes. :)

i only agreed to work with the understanding i’d get my tips at the end of the day and that’s not happening so i’m frustrated. we had to close our lobby and the floor is so poorly set up (we have 5 people but nobody on warming and the ssv is just standing there half the time watching us suffer). we close in less than a minute but breakdown never happened and we’ve barely made a dent in the dishes we have to do.
Vegetable-Manager-4513 points1y ago
When ARE you getting the tips?
aronelo32 points1y ago
I don’t know!! All the SSV said is “I don’t have time for it today”
Edit: Also I need this money now in order to pay for gas, groceries, etc. Literally the only reason I agreed to show up today.
Vegetable-Manager-4514 points1y ago
That’s total B.S.
Dumb question… is this cash tips? How do you know if they actually give it out equally? Or maybe just… how is it supposed to work?
sheep_heavenly24 points1y ago
Cash tips, it's done on normal tip day split by all partners working on Christmas across all day parts. So it really can't be done any earlier than end of day. I've never had a store do it any earlier than normal tip day, sucks that OP got misled.

My ssv had the crabbiest attitude this morning and kept taking it out on me when I would ask him something. Like Im working just like you on Christmas dude I dont deserve your fucking attitude out of all days.

Got out 90 minutes late :). Multiple people screamed at me today. Oven caught on fire… fun day
ton1balon12 points1y ago
YOUR OVEN CAUGHT FIRE??? Was everyone okay?
here_forthefun2 points1y ago
Yes, we got the fire out quickly. A cookie caught on fire and freaked the warming partner but no one was hurt luckily

We had to call the cops on some belligerent anti-maskers after two of us clopened together. I feel like I need another week off after the last two days but it’s only my Tuesday so I have the rest of the week left to go.

I don't understand how SSV could stand there and watch you work, Imo they should be working the hardest out of anyone replenishing cups / lids and making sure all backups are made.
Ajskdjurj5 points1y ago
I also don’t understand. As a Ssv for a small store I’m always helping. If it’s doing warming when the Reg is backed up or helping on bar. I even hold down bar for a bit so they can clean.

We ran out of venti iced cups….

ditto

We didn’t get our order in last night which meant no sandwiches, no milk (meaning we had to go find somewhere to buy 20 gallons of milk + whatever we had left from the day before), ran out of grande/venti hot lids & all frapp bases 😍

Our mobiles stopped printing somewhere between 1 and 2 pm so we have no stickers or receipts for a huge chunk of people and our lobby became fire hazard levels of packed. Me and another partner were bar supporting and were taking orders from MOP and making drinks off that lol. Eventually we just had to close the lobby because we didn’t have the stock or the staff to get slammed from both ends like that. After we officially closed we spent 2 hours doing breakdown and prep… definitely my wildest shift to date.

we ran out of grande ice lids and cream base 🥴 & all our fruit inclusions

My manager schedule 8 people in the morning and left me 2 partner to close and we stayed almost just as busy.

no chai. no vanilla. no sugar free vanilla. no coffee base. no whips. no will to live. but since i work at a tiny ass cafe store i pocketed like 10 dollars in tips

Worked at a different store, we were overstaffed, but this was a high-volume store. I heard Thanksgiving was worse over there, so it worked out in this case I guess
VrginMobile2 points1y ago
I haven't had gift cards or sleeves for 2 weeks
WispyNarwhal2 points1y ago
I ran an open to close shift since no other shifts wanted to come in 😅
It went alright in the morning but afternoon was tough. We had too many people for the morning and not enough in the afternoon.
We did the tips for Christmas this morning. The $22 was pretty worth it, plus who knows what digital tips we got.
