Trans partners- how did you come out to your store? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey.. kinda need your advice on this, I want to come out to them soon before the new year. I already changed my "Known As" name in the My Partner Info system, and one of my shifts and one of my fellow baristas know so far. The rest do not. I was thinking about sending a message in my store's group chat? But idk how to word it. I'll also be sending a message to my SM about it to, and I also don't know how to word that, either. Oh and idk how to tell them to change pronouns aaaaaa >.<

First off, congrats on feeling open enough to come out to your co workers, that’s very brave of you. Second, I suggest just letting your manager know, and maybe ask that they let the team know. Or you can message them all privately. It’s honestly up to you, but whatever you decide good for you! ❤️🏳️⚧️

maybe talk to your SM first and say like “hey here’s the situation, i’d like to tell everyone else, is it okay to do it in the groupchat or is there another way”

hey, I also changed my info after starting! in my case I told my manager and she did a great job informing the store through our shifts. I don’t think there’s an official policy there, but hopefully your manager can help things run smoothly, and otherwise yeah I’d just try to tell your friends/shifts as you go
