imagine the chaos that would break lose if starbucks made it crystal clear just how much sugar is in literally everything here

also, as someone with a massive sweet tooth that has pretty much never decided something is "too sweet" for me... that much sweetness genuinely sounds vomit inducing

we had a lady who usually got iced coffee, usually around 30 pumps of syrup in it. normally she mobile ordered and never actually saw us making it, so she never saw exactly how much syrup was in it and she didn’t know what the stands pumps were. she happened to order in cafe one day and saw the barista making her drink and was shocked by how much syrup and how sugary her drink was. that was the last time she ever got that iced coffee—her order was different after. i think a lot of people would stop the “25 pumps of this and that” if they knew exactly what they
were drinking

TRULY. right when my store opened back up after lockdown, we were super slow, so i was just looking around at the bottles. realized that 4 pumps of vanilla is 19 grams of sugar. i'd imagine all the others are similar. there's gotta be well over 100 grams of sugar in some of these, and i just... i cannot imagine that.

that’s..absurd. i knew there was a ton of sugar in our drinks but 19 grams in 4 pumps?? even some full size candy bars don’t have that much sugar 🤢

i think so? i haven't seen a bottle in a while (i quit in july) but i think the serving size is 2 tablespoons, and a pump is usually about half a tablespoon. i could've done the math wrong or be wrong on the pump vs. tablespoon amount, but i think that's right.

at my new job i've started doing only two pumps of mocha in my drink bc i realized that two pumps is a full serving and i was doing double that lol

The other day we had someone come through drive thru and order a strawberry frap with a shot of espresso mixed in. Everybody on headset wretched when they heard it. Since it was early in the morning, we fucked around and made another for partner sampling purposes. The thing tasted like feet.

u/nightshiftequalsdead Iced triple espresso, with cream 1/2, EX oatmilk 3/4, 6 pumps of caramel & in a venti cup 💀 I hate getting espresso shots in any sized cups iced with the other modifications bcuz if u put too much milk they spazz so u basically fill the cup up with ice💀

I had a customer try to order a blended lemonade add white mocha. Her friend said, “What?!” I went with it and said, “Sure. Anything else?” And right as they were about to pay, I said, “And if you don’t like your drink, just let us know and we’ll make you something else.” That was enough to prompt her to change her order.
