Had someone ask for water with peach juice and then got mad when I told them I’d have to charge them for a custom iced tea. Like I’m not giving you free things, dude. You want a water, sure. You want anything in that water besides ice, you’re gonna get charged for a custom iced tea.

It came out forever ago that all these water modifications are now custom teas. Starbucks wants their money from it.

I don't know how you'd do it with the new system but with the old one you could just hit "add" and then the thing you wanted like peach juice and it would only charge for the peach juice. So like $.50 or so... I went from corporate to licensed and we don't use the sbux system at my store since the company we're under uses a different system for clocking in and out as well as the ordering system.

It’s like that for any toppings or inclusions if you add it to a cup of water but you’re not supposed to ring it in that way. That’s why the custom iced tea button is there

Cold juice is just the juice, while custom tea is the base+water! So i guess hypothetically you could make a cold juice of the peach juice (no water at all), but this specific one is just a custom tea!

The instructions in training are to charge for a custom tea latte any time something other than ice is added to a water. I was told its not just money but labor. Idk if i believe the labor bit. For me if you are nice and polite and understanding, you get it as a water. If you are a jerk well... dont F with the people that make your food... had a man who used to get refills of his tea lem all day in dt for free. Guess who doesnt get free refills after threatening violence on a barista for just being new and unaware he was a regular?? Dont be a jerk.

this happened to me yesterday! a lady wanted hot water with half lemonade and four packets of honey. i was trying to figure out how to ring it in and my shift said to do a steamed lemonade add water with 4 honeys and she got an attitude saying that the other store didn’t charge her since it’s water. like it’s not *just* water ???
