for context some store manager had forgotten to order and was completely out of cups and asked me to bring them if he had any, luckily i’d saved all the ones from before the holiday launch in my car and well…let’s just say they never got their cups
twistedstarfall 20 points 1y ago
I did this several years ago over iced venti cups, only there was a light pole involved just around the bend. I feel for you. Glad you got away without injury.

Careful, if you were on-the-clock and on company business, there may be issues with your auto insurance coverage, depending on your policy and the state you live in. (Former insurance agent)
ttime46 [OP] 115 points 1y ago
unfortunately, i only had collision and i didn’t hit shit but the curb so my insurance ain’t doing a damn thing here😭😂appreciate the info tho lmao
echowolf9 102 points 1y ago
If your manager sent you/you were on the clock you should contact corporate and tell them you were in an accident while picking up product.
ttime46 [OP] 106 points 1y ago
well you see i am the manager…and i also had no injuries…so the most they did was pay me for the rest of my shift for that day lmfao

I’m not sure about everywhere but at least in California, the company is liable for damages caused to your personal car if it was used for work purposes. Did you talk to the dm or PCC?
Ordinary-Theory-8289 10 points 1y ago
You should still definitely file a claim. Especially that you were doing a run for Starbucks.
jazzysoranio 72 points 1y ago
Oh no! Our cups! They’re broken!
adventur3unknown 42 points 1y ago
1 are you ok? 2 this is hilarious what happened afterwords?
ttime46 [OP] 54 points 1y ago
1. yeah i’m fine climbed out of the passenger side door with just a couple scrapes lol
2. well the other store didn’t get the cups they asked for and i ended up having to call my store and say i wasn’t gonna make it back that day😂
voxinx 27 points 1y ago
what happened? i’m glad you’re okay!
ttime46 [OP] 40 points 1y ago
well it was very wet and as i went around a bend i hit the turn a lil too hard smoked the curb and then my car got shot toward the island dividing the road and my car flipped over it and rolled lol, but yeah luckily i’m alright, the cups weren’t as lucky tho😪
voxinx 63 points 1y ago

ttime46 [OP] 54 points 1y ago

You were performing work for Starbucks, thus on the clock, and it absolutely does not matter what your private auto insurance situation is or who was/was not at fault. This is a workers compensation and property claim against Starbucks. Please get what you deserve. They're asses for not offering what you're due. The sooner you file, the better off. Call everybody, document, make a claim.
ttime46 [OP] 3 points 1y ago
all due respect i looked into the situation and did what was best for me, i appreciate the advice but i can make my own decisions lol, appreciate all you guys offering help tho
canidieyet_ 1 points 1y ago

megs1288 23 points 1y ago
I can imagine emergency services wondering if you had robbed a Starbucks of cups
CS3883 4 points 1y ago
I got into a bad wreck 3 months ago and the cop did inventory of my car when it got towed since I was taken away on a stretcher. He found like 20 Starbucks gift cards lmfao. I took the leftover Halloween kitty ones he probably thought I was scamming people
TechnicalCap6619 7 points 1y ago
it's like Sonic
7brooms 5 points 1y ago
Please get your due compensation from Starbucks, the giant global corporate entity liable for your safety while on the clock.
ttime46 [OP] 2 points 1y ago
i work in a licensed store lol, the rules are a bit different starbucks wouldn’t even be the ones to cover it
7brooms 3 points 1y ago
Okay get your due compensation from your liscensed store owner who is also liable for your safety while on the clock? Nothing changes.
ttime46 [OP] -3 points 1y ago
like i said all due respect you don’t know all the details of the situation but i assure you i did what was best for me lol
