We are so understaffed at my work but my SM still won’t shut down the store. We have 10 new hires all under 1 month who are expected to open or close. All of us are struggling everyday it’s so bad, my SM won’t turn off mobile orders or let us close early. I got sent home because now I’m sick and I feel guilty because I’m at home sick while she is making all my partners stress and work. My stress/anxiety is so bad that I finally broke at work and had a panic attack, but I guess the good news is that this finally pushed me into using my Lyra benefits. I start therapy next week. Good luck to everyone out there.

I hope you’re feeling better. You deserve a better SM. I’d definitely ask a shift you’re comfortable with to advocate on your behalf or go straight to your DM. As a shift, this is not okay.

I’m also a shift….I work overtime every week this week I was working 48 hours all because she didn’t want o change the store hours and she makes me close with all newbies and also doesn’t turn off mobile order. And when I left she still didn’t turn off the mobile orders and made me partners suffer I got multiple texts from my closing team that said everything is shit and how it gets harder to just show up to work. Oh and where was my SM through all the chaos ? Oh she was in the back laughing at tik toks.

Oh my gosh that’s terrible. Id go straight over her head to the DM and change your availability. She sounds like a tyrant. That’s how she’ll end up with no one to run her store.

God, we really don’t get paid enough for this bullshit.

As the most tenured barista in my store (3 years) I decided after my vacation that I’m doing the absolute bare minimum. Minimum wage, minimum effort.
