i went to a different store today and ordered my usual drinks, and i just kinda got the vibe that the guy who worked there was new. i wanted to add a few more pumps of vanilla to my drink (i mean the syrup was right there) and he said since the drink was already made he couldn’t remake it (i didn’t even drink the thing or anything). i was just wondering what signs give off “green bean” to you, cause i was always taught to just… give the customer what they want. he also didn’t know how to give me my discount, so i thought he was new lol. (this isn’t an angry rant or vent or anything, im just curious on what gives off the vibes for you guys!)

Sometimes newer baristas can come off as super over-confident and be just wrong about a bunch of stuff but they insist it’s right until you’re like yeah actually I’m a partner and we’ve been doing it this [correct] way for a long time

I usually just offer to remake your drink and you can keep the first drink :) my heart breaks everytime someone refuses to keep the drink 🥺 as I pour out the drink into the sink, everything goes slow motion as my customer and I watch the drink go to waste.
sometimes I just set it aside to give it to the next person :) if they say no, down to the drain!

I felt bad about refusing a drink I mistakenly got(mom&pop coffee shop) I had ordered an americano and my partner got his drink and I only have 2 cup holders in my car, the barista asked if my partners drink was hot or iced so I said hot but forgot to specify my black americano was hot(and barista didn't ask) and so she hands me an iced black americano and I apologised for the confusion and she also apologised and remade it but asked if I wanted to keep it and I said no, there was nowhere to put it ToT
We tipped at the window then had to pull into a spot to wait on food and we felt bad so we tipped them another 5 bucks on top of the first three after they brought our food out haha

I honestly couldn’t care less about the drink haha we throw away a lot of drinks on a daily basis :) it’s just the thought of the drink not being consumed by anyone 😂 it always makes my day to see people get so happy to get a free drink.

Caramel drizzle on the salted caramel cold brew. I mean.. why not? But not the recipe.. but still good.. but I don’t wanna hurt their feelings.. but the customer looks confused..
