If you’re sick please call out. You work to accrue sick time to use it in this situation and nobody should make you feel bad for that. Not to mention we are living in a raging pandemic and you should stay home if you ever have covid symptoms. Hope you feel better soon

It so sad we work in a place where we’re anxious to call out for being sick. I was exposed to Covid on Christmas and have felt so sick all week. I called my sm to try to figure out when I can come back and explain the situation. He still hasn’t gotten back to me and it’s been three days. Apparently he’s on vacation. According to my shift, I should “be prepared to have him talk to me.” And I’m like, bro, I’m sick and have been exposed to Covid what do you want from me? I still feel awful and can barely move out of my bed and I’m supposed to go in at 5am tomorrow. I’m terrified to call in but I think I need too. Ugh…love the Starbucks life

you can’t get written up for calling out sick, you just have to call and say you will not be coming in because you are throwing up. no coverage needed, that’s the ssv or shifts job to find it when you are ill.

If you have sick time use it and write it in the book for the day you called out, this way it won’t be an attendance anomaly. If you can I would message someone tonight or before your shift to give them some heads up to look for coverage, in addition to calling out tomorrow.

i better not 😭 my sm just literally guilt trips people that call out. so many partners at my store were sick this month and they all had to work. there’s a girl that got covid and my sm acted like it was her fault and isn’t even giving her a full week to isolate
