So, this reminded me of something I used to do that I completely forgot about. 😂. Years ago I used to make one gross drink with a fake name on it and just leave it on the bar because I knew that someday someone was going to do just this. It also served the dual purpose of making it harder for people to lean over the counter or plop all their bags down on it. Well, after doing it every day for months this one regular annoying kid customer brought it back and said it was wrong and I started laughing and I was like “uh, that’s probably because you’re not Darlene.”

Usually it was just like a hot cup of cold water with one pump of chai and a shot of espresso. Sometimes it was just whatever pike was being dumped before a new batch was brewing. Sometimes I would add a scoop of matcha or a dried blackberry. Basically, whatever was about to be dumped soon since I don’t like wasting ingredients. Lol

I don’t even know what I’d do in that situation

When they come in next, give them a tall decaf americano and say this is what they get bc another customer said their drink looked better. Smile and walk away.

Sigh. I’m not at all shocked or surprised. But I am so incredibly disappointed. I would have written an incident report and made every barista on the floor write one too, in hopes of getting that person banned. That is theft. You don’t walk into a nicer home and take it over cause you like it more. This is odd af behaviour
