So I was on drive thru yesterday, and we couldn't do fraps (out of base). The woman at the box asked for a recommendation because her young daughter normally got a caramel creme frap, so I said we could do what would basically be an iced caramel latte but with no espresso and she agreed. I rung her up for a syrup steamer with caramel syrup and wrote "iced" in the ask me. The barista that was on bar said I should have rung her up as a caramel latte.
But that didn't make any sense to me because it would be like an extra $2 for espresso that she's not getting? Because the POS doesn't take money off when you remove things. The only difference between the like $3.50 steamer and the $5.50 latte is the espresso shots and the fact that it was iced. It wouldn't have even been any kind of alteration of she wanted it hot, it would have just been a normal steamer. Why would I charge more just because it was, essentially, an iced steamer?
I generally don't like this partner very much and I have a feeling she doesn't think too highly of me, either (she's always trying to boss me around in the name of "coaching" because she knows I'm newer, even though she only even transferred to my store a few weeks ago and she's been confidently incorrect many times), so I wanted to check with someone else and figure out who was right so I can charge properly next time.
