Look at the salary & think about if you’ll be happy to work unpaid overtime to stop your team from being understaffed. I would ask for more money than anything they offer. Also, typically outside hire SMs make way more money than promoted SMs so try figure out who’s being paid what in your district - it is massive stress so ask what you are worth, they’re desperate for SMs at the moment.
Be clear about what your expectations and standards are so everyone knows where they stand with you. Don’t play favourites, everyone notices. Unless you have a very strong team of SSVs who feel confident in dealing with pretty much any issue by themselves, work-life balance can be bad so really invest in the training you give them, make sure they know how you’d want XYZ situations handled on your days off, so they won’t call/message every time something goes wrong.
As long as you listen to your team and communicate what you want clearly and fairly, you can’t go too far wrong!
