missing tips?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by jesshood01
i started almost a month ago now and was originally planning on training at one store and then moving to my home store after my training was done. after a couple of weeks there was actually a new opening at the store i was training at and i decided to stay. my hours for my first 2 weeks were charged to what was going to be my home store. i asked about if i had tips at the store i was training at and the manager told me they’d be at the other store since my hours were charged there - at this point i feel sus about it because i worked hard at this store to earn tips and am taking from a store i didn’t work at - whatever. so i go to pick up my tips at the other store and i’m told they aren’t there, i wasn’t included when the tips were split. i feel like normally it maybe wouldn’t be a big deal, but i know at least the store i’ve been working at has been making a good amount in tips. i texted the other manager asking what’s going on with my tips and he said he’s “working on it”. not really sure what else i can do. has anyone else experienced something like this??

Your SM is right, they shouldve been at your store you were supposed to go to. Even though you were training at this store, you were the other stores partner so they’re responsible for your tips. It’s stupid to do it that way imo but whatever. But also its fucked up that they didnt give you the tips! If they don’t have them, they need to do a pay out for you of what your tips shouldve been for those weeks. Give it a few days, and keep checking in with the other manager. If you absolutely need to you can always escalate it to your DM but hopefully it gets resolved before you need to do that. Ask your SM about it, too. If it comes down to it, your SM should be able to do a pay out for those tips.

Thank you! i brought it up to my SM today and she said to keep her informed of what’s going on with it and she can talk to the other manager to work something out! Frustrating, but feeling a little more hopeful now

Haven’t expierienced it but do not let up. They owe you money for the time you worked. Be persistent and tell them they need to figure it out.
