I Finally Quit (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ChemicalBarnacle
When I transferred to a different store, my metal health went down the toilet. I loved making drinks and creating my regular beverages, but I was tired of being treated like crap by customers and fellow employees for my disability and things that I can’t even control. I literally ran out of the store mid-shift because my panic attacks were so bad. I would say thank you for the good 3 years, but I wouldn’t be honest about the last 2 years. Good luck to everyone else who is a barista and wants to continue their career, but this job wasn’t for me.

Im so sorry you weren’t respected by your employees and customers for your disability. I’m glad you quit since you deserve much respect and better treatment. Hope you take care!

Anxiety is something I have fought my whole life, panic attacks at work are the worst and I am very sorry that happened. Oh also one piece of advice, it may be good to get into a relationship with someone who understands those problems or at least is thoughtful or very considerate about it, it is hard to deal with alone let alone having someone make it worse with resentment for how you can be during those times and how you need to deal with them. I don’t mean to be over sharing or preachy, I guess I wish I had :/
