How can I request time off in some what of a hurry(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Super-Mycologist-781
My mental health hasn’t been the best recently and they’ve stacked my hours non stop. I want to ask for half a week or so off but anytime k request it’s Allways “I’ve Already put in the next scedual for review” and i can’t go on for another three weeks like this… basically I’m just asking how can I tell them I’m not able to make my shift fit the better sake of myself

Say your not feeling well. Make an appointment with your doctor and see if you can take some stress time off.
Or like everyone else: Say you are feeling sick and have covid symptoms. Or you were in close contact with someone with covid. I know , chicken 💩 move but honestly even management level is pulling this 💩 off.

just remember you only get paid for 20 days of covid leave, so if you’ve already used some keep that in mind

the company itself is suppose to be very pro mental health help, i have taken emergency time off and was honest with my manager that i needed a mental health break. he is great though, very understanding but i know many managers are not that great. i agree with a comment under here that if that doesn’t feel like an option, say you need to isolate as you were exposed to covid

You can initiate your own Leave of Absence (in the US call sedgwick - number can be found on the hub or in the front of your daily records book). If it’s medical they will likely need documentation from your doctors but you could definitely go that route for mental health if you think you can get the documentation. You can also do a personal LOA that would just require approval from your SM and DM so if you can’t go the medical route I would just talk to your SM about it. Be honest with what’s going on and hopefully they should be willing to help, your mental health should come first.
